I also preferred L/B - they have music that isn't overused and their program is so THEM - and I mean that in a good way.

First of all L/B was a dance, not 2 people doing things on ice and pretending fast arm movements are icedancing. I can't say about tech nuances because rink is dark but they seemed so much better and faster.
Tho I really hoped for something like Cartoon Heroes
I will also bold - those 88 points are well deserved.
After just 5 months, Laurance and Guillame look better than any other team there. They are rightfully first.
Inflated scores? They are the first couple at a national competition. I'd be worried if they got less points, not more.

I totally agree. They looked on it this early in the season. Music, costumes, unison, choreo were all better than Cizeron/FB. It's so sad that ice dance still can't be judged on what is shown on ice.

I bet they put a lot of energy into their preparations for the season since they knew it would be hard for them to stay the number 1 team in France...for obvious reasons
Lop/Bris, IMHO looked very average. Poor extensions, and he wobbled on his second twizzle; it's not compelling. They should be closer to the 3rd ranked team here. FB/C looked like the class of the field. The programme is very ambitious and has a long way to go, but the potential is there. The other programs, not so much.

LB for me had by far the strongest leg lines, posture and edges in the competition, and the nearest and most correct holds. In terms of skating technique, it wasn't even close.
For now I'm ignoring speed. Imo speed doesn't matter if you get it by doing "calf flicks with bent knees" on crossovers or leaning your body so far forwards you could kiss the ice. Speed in terms of skating skills is a differentiator when everybody maintains strong posture, otherwise hockey skaters would be the best.

But to be fair, it's only the RD; it's quite another task to complete the FD. Let's see what shape the guys are really in there.Tbh I was only comparing the top two teams. Watch for example the PST extentions between the top two teams. Neither had bettee leg lines in the program than the two teams just below them, I just didn't want to look like I was targeting one team specifically negatively with my statement initial statement. Who is really surprised that FB/C are getting huge scores ? I haven't seen the RD but they were going to get these scores for sure, at least in their domestic events. Who is really surprised that they would outscore L/B ?
As soon as they announced their partnership, it was clear that the French Federation would push for them to win Olympic gold... and it's probably what every Fed would have done... (perhaps not the Canadian feds whose judges still undermark their skaters blatantly) but yeah... there is no surprise here and in some ways, considering that Guillaume is by far the best ice dancer in the world and Lolo was often referred to as the best woman ice dancer, I am sure at least some of these scores are deserved

just tuned in - one of my favourite French skaters, Landry Le May, is on the ice - not a great skate for him today, but I really like his skating style - always elegant, nicely finished and great posture. Looking forward to seeing him at Nebelhorn next month.
Things did not look great for Adam in the warm-up 
From what could be seen from a fix camera covering half the ice, out of 2 jump attempts, one pop and one fall. No spins or other elements, just skating around the ice for the rest of the time.
Guess we won't be seeing his skate today neither.
