2025-26 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 1 - Magnitogorsk

I guess K/N's gold is not in danger tomorrow. P/C were the only ones who could win them overall.

Not L/G have a great opportunity for a surprise silver.
Is the gap that much bigger in the FS? I thought L/G are one of the best in Russia. Are K/N then likely a top 3? Is anyone at all close to S/B?

He was Valeriy.

IMO that's just his very uneasy character.
I know, I just somehow smashed their names together when typing and did not proofread. Sometimes my hands are too fast for my eyes, not to even speak of my brain. 🫣

Probably, I hope he's getting the help he needs and at least no poor girl has to put up with him in Ice Dancing again (for now?).

I liked this! Another good ending.

I am excited for tomorrow. Things in general were interesting today. FD tends to be better than RD anyways with the free theme.

P.S. did anyone catch the peak YouTube viewers during the ladies? I didn't pay attention to this. I wonder what percentage of the viewers are on YT vs 1tv, probably quite a minority?

Vasilisa in general seems like she's quite sweet (which is not to say that she isn't competitive or anything, or that she's always sweet, I wouldn't know that). Makes it even harder to understand why Valeri treated her the way he did.
Because he is a narcissist. The same reason he couldn't find another partner in a country where like 10+ girl skaters for one man.

I wonder how many skaters are covert narcissists who only stay hidden because their partners don't dare to leave them (thinking of the Shibutanis' behaviour behind the scenes, for example). I guess the difference between evil and genius is very slim sometimes.

Last season Mironova/Ustenko lost a podium place at the RGPF (potentially a silver medal) because he fell in the very end of the free dance. She wasn't mad at him but later she confessed that she had vented her anger by destroying the hotel room.
I wouldn't want to be there to see that if I were him. Must have been terrifying. 😳
