L/G needs to move out of Zhuk and Svinin’s group if they want to be taken as serious contenders and not viewed as only 2nd/3rd placer team.

Zhuk and Svinin’s skaters are known to have poor ice coverage (yes including Stepanova/Bukin) and it showed in this program despite the program having a great concept.

They need to go to Krylova or Zhulin group.

Of course for Russia it is Petrosian or no one!! She definitely won’t be in this form in February. I hope it’s better form. Because it’s her or no one. This whole thing has always been more of a sentence than a privilege.

Well they can't send anyone else anyways even if they wanted to. It is literally Petrosian or nothing. There are others who could take a gold internationally though, if they're at their best. We will need to wait for nationals to see how things are going. Almost no girl in Russia peaks early. Maybe Frolova last season but she was giga-injured this summer so still recovering.

Absolutely! You and I know this! Many people do! So for someone to say Russia shouldn’t send Petrosian to Olympics they are saying Russia shouldn’t send anyone.

Which commentators do you like?

Kolyada, Khudaberdieva and Sherbakova are all great. Tran'kov and Tikhonov are okay. Three men fighting to say something with Yagudin talking over other two is a no-no. Basically, remove Yagudin and I am gonna be a happy camper.

So, men was a disaster, showing what blindly chasing Malinin does to the whole field. Any idiot saying that Malinin skates from jump to jump with PCS of 5 or below should see Rukhin. That's what it looks like -- and that's with all the empathy I have for Rukhin as a survivor of Tutberidze's school. Savosin and Kondratyuk provided some relief in the SP. FS was less watchable.

Senior dance was entertaining in the rhythm with mistakes that boggled the mind. After that intriguing scoring of Kaganovskaya/Nelrasov with their absence of edges and glide and losing lift completely, while Pasechnik/Cirisano dropped for a single fall on steps, I dunno if I want to watch the free all that much. Which was the first occasion when I liked Pasechnik/Cirisano, until she went down again. I mean... ??? The upside was that they were pretty watchable with better music, though I still protest L/G's going with a junior choice of Ricky Martin.

Women's SP was as boring as internationals, Frolova being one bright moment. Peeps who like international senior women will like that.

Pairs SP was great, miles better than internationals as always, with speed, flow, gorgeous lifts and very few mistakes, except for Shegai whose one redeeming quality is resilience.
