I was thinking with his height he might be a good pairs guy. That was rough. I think that he needs to consider if pairs might be viable option for his career.
Let's see what happens in Finlandia... I have the feeling that Roman almost always does better in Canada than internationally.Wow!!
236.73 beats 236.48.
Romsky beats Gogo by 0.25!!
Yikes!! Romsky leading the bout 2:1 now!
I believe I said "he's still in the conversation" not "he has it locked down". And last week's score still puts Tomoki well ahead of Naumov, Torgashev, Ma and Sanchez. Obviously it's not over until it's over, just saying that I don't think one bad free skate puts Tomoki out of the running just yet.Yeah especially with Torgashev, Naumov, Ma, and Sanchez in there. I realize they're wild cards, but still...I think they might merit more consideration than Hiwatashi for what he put out today.
Yep! At this rate USFSA needs to go with the man who is consistently scoring the best in PCS and consistently scoring the highest with levels and GOE on spins and footwork in international competition. Tomoki’s performance here at Skate Canada did not exemplify those qualities; quite the contrary, he acted like he didn’t even care about those aspects of his performance. The jumping aspect with these inconsistent US men is always going to be volatile.Yeah especially with Torgashev, Naumov, Ma, and Sanchez in there. I realize they're wild cards, but still...I think they might merit more consideration than Hiwatashi for what he put out today.
My nine-month-old baby said "no thanks" and continued to roam around the house shrieking and eating crumbs off the floor. It's like there's a baby they're all trying to lull to sleep or something

He got nailed in PCS that's for sure. I would say that he was a lot rougher here than his earlier outings in the season take a look at so I understand, whereas Roman certainly stepped it up here. However, I think Stephen's program certainly has a lot more content both jump-wise and also choreographically in terms of transitions, Etc, but his General skating skills and Edge quality are clearly far below Roman's so he really needs to nail the program in order to make up the difference. Personally, I think he is likely the favorite and I predict he's going to have it all figured out by the time Nationals come around, and that he's going to be Canada's representative in italy.Too bad for Gogo... so close yet so far away.
The big test of your powers is coming up. Will the handsome Selevko brother deliver?see? it's not me, cacti are delivering

I don't think he has the upper body strength, and he has only just returned from a significant back injury. I think pairs would be more likely to finish off his career, rather than enhance it.I was thinking with his height he might be a good pairs guy.
Canada should send the best man at their nationals. That would show who can stand pressure.Wow!!

that would be a miracle, which is not my department, but legend has that once per year, in a moonless night he can deliver two good programs back to backThe big test of your powers is coming up. Will the handsome Selevko brother deliver?
He is done a lot of events and is getting a bit tired. Roman seems to be pacing himself and skating maybe a bit easier program and has a bit more left in his tank. Time to rest and reset for the next part of the season.Stephen is really going for everything and not holding back, but is looking pretty rough on most of his jumping passes. Bummer. I really think that this program is much better than anything he's ever done and has a ton of really interesting and complicated transitional content. Just need to get him about 15% more speed overall - I think that is something that he could achieve by the end of the season for sure.
