Sadly, that hasn't really been the case so far... Conti/Macii were really lifting them up until the throw (though still a beautiful performance regardless of my mood).

Didn't Deanna and Max just do it for the first time, or am I hallucinating? A lot of teams are doing +2A or +1A+2A or +2A+1A, working their way up to it.

they pretty much all do +2a+2a now. it's new for Deanna and Max this year indeed.. but even Sui Han just tried them...

I was the biggest sui han fan 4 years ago. not this year. I don't think they should win this. to me, they should end in third place.

I started to watch when Japanese were skating. No time to watch short programs but is there anything worth to watch at the first group before men' free?

I think "try" is the operative word though. They are generally very very ugly. The Japanese and Italian teams here ( especially the Japanese) are among the best and least cringe inducing.

The short is great,but agree that free is missing something,but overall they don't feel that connected anymore.We can only hope it gonna change before Olympics.

Rough elements aside, I like the choreo and movement, but I wonder if the program would be more effective if the music had a bit more variation? It doesn't really build.
