Wow, Elyce has been rough this year. Her jump technique is actually good as are her skating skills. I always find her bland but her basics are good. Did she grow a lot this year or something? She's definitely lost some confidence.

Elyce. Pretty dress. I really like this program and I hope to see it skated clean. She is injured and I think she skated it well.

Lin-Gracey had a great start of the program nailing the 3Lz-3T combination on which she fell in the SP but then it was much worse. Another skater with pops today. Aoki will move up by at least 1 spot. I didn't expect such dramatic music for her.

The problem is when you choose epic movie music... and for whatever reason the epic doesn't happen... it's worse than a quieter program. Mark says she's also injured?

Despite the jump issues, Elyce seems to be all right with that skate. Big 3Lz-3T as the opening jumping pass. She gets quite a bit of amplitude on her toe jumps, and the split jump in her choreo sequence looks high as well. Her spins are consistently solid, and her layback is lovely.

Oh dear - rough skate for Elyce! I didn't realize that she was injured. There were some nice spins, and some of her jumps had good height to them, but there were a lot of errors. I also found that skating after Yuna did not do her any favours: Elyce had absolutely zero facial expression throughout, and I found the program uninspired. Her dress was really unflattering too, unfortunately.

Anna is pure power in her skating and jumping. She hasn't gotten the control, precision, or refinement yet. I think she will get there....but Lara is going to the Olympics this year unless she is injured.

I've watched it like 3 times, I actually love it - I bet I'm in the minority as well
The middle part drags a bit and is indeed a little boring, but the unexpected ending redeems it. One of my favorite movie endings actually.

I saw two minutes in an ad and decided that was a surfeit.

Eek - Another rough skate with a rather uninspired program! I have heard of Anna before, but I don't know that I've ever actually seen her skate. Her jumps, when they are on, are really impressive, but she's awfully wild when they're not. Like Elyce, I didn't find that Anna performed at all, and this program does not seem like a good fit for her. She lacks the stretch, posture, and refinement needed for a balletic program.
