Her issues are because of a foot injury, not bad technique. Didn't you know that?Generally, when healthy, her only issues on jumps are rotation issues on her combo and edge issues on the flip. There isn't a single woman skater that doesn't have issues with combination rotation and or edges on flip or lutz. She is known for her great height on her jumps and one of the few that does not use the "cheat" technique on her lutz or flip. Her coach's biggest problem is he doesn't have the political clout with the Japanese Fed to get her flaws overlooked like some do.Wakaba Higuchi - I LOVE this FS! What can I say other than I am so brokenhearted for her as it seems like her dream of going to another Olympics is very dim right now. She is such a special and beautiful skater who has touched so many skating fans. I could feel her emotion and passion project from the screen and it’s so disheartening how her technical flaws also bring down the scoring of her PCS. With all of her talent, this is a skater who should be winning medals at every event. Ugh, I am so sad for her! I wish there was time for her to connect with a technical coach who could really help her through all of her jump rotation issues. She is too good of a skater to rank as low as she does in these events.

Midori in terms of jumping was Ilia for the women during her era. No one had seen anything like her before and we still haven't. I'm sure she could have done quads if she needed to in her prime.It was great to see Midori Ito in the medal ceremony. My late wife and I used to call her "Air Ito" because her jumps were so big.

I just watched Kaori's FS and that was superbly clean and so smoooooth. I hope it goes just as well or better in Milano. And loved seeing Midori Ito during the awards ceremony. She looked tiny next to the other 2 women presenting the medals and flowers. And her enthusiasm is still there waving goodbye to each of the ladies as she walked away from the podium after the presentation LOL.

Not sure I agree tbh. I am thrilled for Loena that she had a clean FS, but her SP had 2 large errors. Young skated 2 clean programs.

Ok, I just looked at the placements and did not watch SP at all or it's protocols, so that makes the difference. Then I must correct FS results were correct, because I have not seen neither of their's SPs.

I love that she doesn’t telegraph her jumps.

What Russian senior women over 17 years of age show in competitions at the moment, including Petrosyan, doesn't warrant the last statement imo.

I think he is assuming she would have her 3A and quads,in which case he would be correct. However, that is a very big assumption right now. Lol

It's possible I misremember her, I sometimes conflate various skaters with each other.
