A good skate by Mone, despite the face she pulled at the finish. Quick save of the 3T landing with the three turns. That spiral after the 2A never gets old, and I do love the relevé onto one toe pick she does after it. Those head back twizzles into illusion turn where she gets her palm flat on the ice are a highlight of the step sequence for me.

i hope she didn't use her olympic skate here...

I think tomorrow will answer if she wasted her luck or if she is stabilizing.

42 TES today. She earned 40 before. It's not a huge difference.

Last season she earned 75 total and a 78 but the rest wasn't good. 75 today isn't uncharacteristic for a normal Amber season.

Chiba didn’t even get negative GOES for that combo!

She finished with -0.08.

Two judges gave +1 though which is incomprehensible.

Good for Madi Schizas to finish in third. I do want her to sell the first half of the program more. Glad that Amber landed her jumps. I don't love the version of Like a Prayer she uses for most of the program but I do love the last part. I'm surprisingly not tired of Mone's short program at all. It fits her so well.
