2026 U.S.Nationals Senior Women Free Skate

It used to be.
But not for 7 years. You would think they would have got the memo by now? I find it irritating how they keep repeating inaccurate information. Even worse, they are just unkind. Johnny's comments during the first group of women's skaters were just mean. In contrast, I'm watching the replay of the first group of the women's program right now and Ashley and Ben are such an improvement. They are kind and clearly rooting for all the skaters and seem to have some understanding of how skating actually works. It isn't rocket science.

Anyway, I really enjoyed Emilia, Katie, and Sonja in the first group. Emilia is going to be incredible as a senior. Katie has some nice basics and Sonja is going to become one of the best choreographers in the world when she decides to retire. I can't believe I didn't notice she was skating to Mandarin music prior to this competition in the FS. I was just always focused on the SP, I guess. Cool choice. She always makes unexpected choices. Cool jumps and cool spin positions as always.

Judges stingy on her PCS always.
I think her low PCS is just a reflection of how the judges aren't good at separating SS (particularly speed, they often don't reward nice edges) from choreo and performance. Sonja deserves rather low SS marks, but performance is good and her choreo is great. Judges could go 5.5/ 7/ 9 in her marks but they won't.

When I grow up, I want to be as cool and talented as Sonja Hilmer is, the attention to detail in this program is insane, and I'm sure it's even more remarkable if you're familiar with the show this program is based on. She does so many unique things, from opening up the program with her 2A to her cool spin positions to her 3S+2A+2S combo. I know she's struggled a bit with some health stuff recently, so she might not have had all of the training she wanted heading in Nationals, but she still delivered such a memorable program.
Her placement was ridiculous.

So Peacock doesn't have a separate World Stream for Women FS, correct? Or did I miss it?

National Development team throwing tshirts. First I have seen of them. Normally they have a section blocked off for them. DJ Romeo quite rightly complimented my glasses. I like him better now.

By the way the dog food sponsor Nulo ad picture on the boards features Madi & Evan's dog Henry

I've been to at least one nationals where it was split this way (maybe dance & men, not pairs and women).

My understanding was that it had to do with the people who bought tickets for the arena, not the tv schedule.
In Detroit there was a single group of pairs who skated at like 10 am and I made a huge point of being there. There was basically no audience. Max and Winter were 1 of the pairs.
