not at all... they still got 2 points higher in PCS than anyone else. Nothing to do with the group. They made a very costly technical mistake. I invite you to look at the protocols. It may be helpful.

LFB/C got 7.50 GOE on the choreographic steps, more than anyone else. It was not noticeably better than any other couple. As I've seen in other posts, this seems to be a random component for judges to load points onto a favourite pair, particularly when the technical scores are pretty much the same.

Delighted that Phebe BEKKER / James HERNANDEZ (GBR) in 11th and Sofía VAL / Asaf KAZIMOV (ESP) in 15th qualified for the Free.
Gutted that Angelina KUDRYAVTSEVA / Ilia KARANKEVICH (CYP) in 22nd missed out. By just 1.14 points.

Just had a quick listen to the iPlayer. It's a woman commentator alone, but can't recognise who? Thank god Kat Downes is gone, gives me hope for Olympics as we'll have to rely on the BBC coverage. Disgusted Eurosport is employing Simon Reed again, he should retire already. Apart from being a terrible sexist, he used to just turn up with no prior research.You would never have caught Sue Barker doing that. She always did her research.
That's a point. Do you know who is commentating with Robin Cousins on the BBC this week? Kat Downes is in Australia for the tennis.
Incidentally, Simon is commentating with Louise Walden on Eurosport this week. But, we in the British Isles can't get it!

Well done Lilah & Lewis for coping with the pressure and skating well if a tiny bit cautiously. But after they made an error in the Twizzles last time they were in Sheffield for the British Championships I can understand that. The crowd were great!
I think for Phebe & James, their experience from the Torvill & Dean Last Dance Tour really helped. 11th place is excellent. Nick & Penny are such wonderful Choreographers/Coaches.
I suspected Angelina & Ilia would struggle to qualify with that score, finished in 22nd.
Oh that's encouraging! I only looked on the screen while it was on.

Lilah has clearly gotten better. That's 100% true. But you can look at the amplitude and extension of their movements and lines and you will see that they are not the best technicians out there. People can improve a lot and still have weaknesses and that's the case here. It seems like 'many people", when some skaters are consistent and improving "imagine" that they are now suddenly the best in the world is another way to put things."Many people" seem to get stuck in their opinions from years before, not acknowledging advances teams or ind. skaters have made.
