well something came unexpected though... after the RD, I would have scored 75... with all the mistakes today, I will be at 55... so still.. it wasn't done before it was done... and I am relieved about that.

I think Olympics has two battles: Fournier-Beaudry/Cizerone and Chock/Bates for gold and Piper/Paul and Guignard/Fabbri for bronze.

i'm happy with Charlene and Marco's silver. this event was an emotional rollercoaster for multiple reasons, not all of them skating related.

Wow! What a score. So are they the favourites now going into the Olympics? I would have said it was Chock and Bates before but now I’m not so sure.

Putting aside all the personal stuff around Laurence and Guillaume, I am happy for Laurence as she is such a stunning ice dancer and she deserved to be on the top of the podium with her skill, but that would never have happened with her old partner.

I noticed the first set of twizzles was out of sync and annoyed at the judges who just automatically gave them 4’s. But other than that this deserves all the points.

I can see why some will find this to be a snooze with the music but it’s just a masterful performance, feels authentic to them, and nobody else could do what they’re doing.

Also not a G/F fan but they served up their best today and deservedly beat F/G (who were lucky to not marked down worse with the twizzle error - I mean seriously a judge gave them a 2 and a 1 and a 0 in spite of so obviously a failed element… I do wonder if the crowd affected them because I can’t imagine anyone being able to hear their music or stay focused with that crowd!).

Can I say, congrats to Charlene & Marco, for rising to the occasion in a way that even I, a long time fan of theirs, would never have anticipated?

Lopareva/Brissaud were robbed being clean in both segments. Fear/Gibson should have finished off the podium due to Lilah’s messy twizzle and her causing Lewis to trip. Lilah and Lewis were much slower and cautious after that mistake and were gifted their 2nd tarnished bronze medal of the season.

FB/C were clearly the winners and should have been far ahead in points, but it’s absolutely a disgrace that G/F’s points were as close as they were to F/G. The Italians should have finished 5+ points ahead of the Brits.
