Interesting that YunaSumi struggled with the throws but landed the SBS perfectly - opposite to what happened to many teams tonight

I hope it's still enough for bronze!!

Nooooo. The throws were a problem, but the SBS combo is a highlight. The fall on the second throw is going to cost them a medal I think.

Apart from the fall, that was really good.

They go into 3rd position in the FS, and 2nd position overall.

I am insanely upset and frustrated that the Chinese Federation has (allegedly) pushed for Sui/Han to come back and even more so that they are competing here. Han was incredibly injured during their career, as was Sui, and she looks to be in a lot of pain here. She should not be competing, she seems to have some back/hip pain on her right leg and is wincing with basic stroking. Jackie Wong is saying on Twitter that they have spotters with them during private practice... she is fighting for every element but they are literally breaking their bodies here for a few World Ranking points and going to the Olympics for a shot at a medal despite the up-and-coming team of Zhang/Huang earning the Olympic spot for China and being a team that could really benefit from Olympic experience. It's just so hard for me to see skaters who I loved watching go out in pain and struggle after four years ago having the triumph of Olympic gold on home ice.

Sui/Han were way out of sync on the SBS 3S. The SBS are not working for them today. Another fall! They’re not gonna win!

Pair girls are so tough. I didn't see SUI / HAN do one full run through this week. For her to actually fight through so much pain and get through that skate blows my mind.

I wish they'd had 6 more months to prepare. They did some things really well but there were too many issues. Praying for a miracle at the Olympics.

Hmm, I'm glad that they made it to the end considering her injury but I think it may not be enough to win, depends how much PCS can help them, but E/M got very good PCS so there;s no much room. Should be enough for second though.

I know that people will hate me for saying this, but I would have Efimova/Mitrofanov ahead of them, even taking into account the score difference in the SP.

They will need to be a lot cleaner in the Olympics - they aren't going into it as clear favourites like they did last time.

I'm reminded of when the Japanese Federation pushed Midori Ito to come back in time for Nagano, and it should have been a walk in the park. Instead, she went through absolute hell at the 1996 World Championships in Edmonton.
