The Head of the ISU used to be a speed skater nicknamed "Speedy" who admitted to knowing nothing about figure skating and wanted to limit Ice Dancers to just one dance. Believe it or not.

Sadly, the decision may not be in their hands. If their training location closes, they can't afford to relocate without extra funding.

They're world champions now. Surely someone will sponsor them???

The Georgians looked tired at the end of that FS, and for good reason; they did four programs at the Olympics and then have been doing a lot of media tours with their silver medal in Georgia afterwards. Imo I would've had their PCS a bit lower based on that skate but their current position is fine by me because Lia and Trennt had a few little errors in their program

Georgia is...what?....250 miles long? Love to see the Architecture....

Germany has 3 spots based on H/V and H/K’s combined placements. Georgia also gets 3 spots, but they don’t have 3 teams eligible to my knowledge.

Genuine question: asside from Nethherlands, is there a country where if you say skating to an average person on the street, and they say 'speed skating, right?'
I know this could be taken as a dig at speed skating, but is not intended as such... just that most people wold think of figure skating or hockey first

Started watching the replay on Peacock and was disappointed to hear Johnny and Tara again. I guess Tonia and Mark are considered the "B" team. Oh well.

I only watched the top 5. I'm very happy for Hase/Volodin, but the only program I enjoyed was that of the Canadians, which was the only program that even felt like one. Everyone else was just skating to background music. I feel like all pairs have become copycats of Savchenko/Massots last two free programs. I miss the Addam's family, Pina, Pink Panther type of programs, whatever Marchei/Hotarek skated to, etc. Pairs used to be such a fun place!
