Was it easier to switch from the Russian fed before events of 2022. It seems that way to me.

I think it is a couple years too late for Mura, but maybe the simplified rules will help her. I'm not sure in another couple of years she will beat Gladkaya.

Well, if you look at the Zhilina story, it doesn't look good for Muravieva imo. She's been on the National Team for years, and the RusFed probably wants her to pay back all that money.

And what about her injury? We talked about it during Nationals, she seemed to have back problems??

I support this, and the RusFed needs to stop playing hard to get.
She didn't pay for anything. RusFed did. She can return the money they paid for her and go free wherever she wishes. She doesn't want to pay. So she is playing the victim to get sympathy from fools. It works. That said, she also didn't fulfill her contractual obligations with Plushenko. They were not pursuing because of personal connection with Mishin. They don't have to do it now.
I don't like people who don't pay and who don't follow the contract. They are not far from thieves.

The situation is weird. I think moving to France is not a good idea.

Zhillina did not get released because Plushenko was playing games with the federation. If Muravieva really sits out this whole season she will be released.

I think she should not do this though.

If she quits this is a disaster for the Russian ladies' scene. It just keeps getting worse. Is she that hard to work with? Where did this come from? She always seemed fine. Maybe Plushenko just had that much patience?

Pay back the money? Could you guys elaborate? I've never heard of this. The federation pays money for the season and you skate. If she doesn't skate this season she won't be paid and she can be released the next. Isn't that how this works? Zhilina was not released because she was on the national team and kept withdrawing last minute from each competition.

Could you elaborate? How did she not fulfill her contract? Where is this news from? I thought Plushenko kicked her out for the same reasons as Mishin, though we don't know what those reasons are.

I think there's a really little chance it's France in the end. According to ISU rules she either must have French passport or move to France to change countries. Seems fantastic right now.

Judging by Sofia's interview, Mishin specifically is not interested in continuing to work with her because of changings countries.

People on another site say French passport is easy to buy into. France has a few Russians. The thing is I still don't see how it works for her cause there's no trainers left. She definitely isn't moving to France and seems nobody in Russia wants her. Where is this Sofia interview? I mean, since 1tv released this video, it suggests she must be very serious about moving somewhere. Very very sad loss for Russian skating... BTW, someone said Sofia doesn't want to pay her bailout. Where do we know that from? Well... I imagine it's a very hefty one. The cost of buying herself out then buying into a passport would be huge. I kind of get her though, maintaining top 3 amongst Adeliia, Dzepka, Kamila, Alisa and so on is not a high confidence scenario.

But I doubt she can get it never living there and not speaking the language like it was with Georgian passport and Gubanova for example.

Where is this Sofia interview?

I know this is "just" show news, but I hope Russian ladies' fans may find it interesting:

Maria Zakharova will be skating in "Passio Live", a show in Mexico City produced by Donovan Carrillo :)

I didn't think Donovan would already be producing shows. I thought he's so young. I heard Maria got a lot of international show offers. I remember Sasha, Liza & Co also going to Mexico not too long ago. Wouldn't think Mexico is such a hot destination being so far away from Russia.

Donovan is of course the star of the show, as he would be the main attraction in Mexico, but at least according to his website and the IG, he is the producer. I hope that bringing in international skaters also sparks interest in skating overall.

Zhilina was able to secure RusFed's release. Now she has to clear ISU's hurdle, which could be as early as this summer, with Zhilina potentially taking to international ice in 2026-2027 as an Azeri.

Kira Trofimova received a release to Belorus, again, pending ISU (on her personally and on Belorus' in general).

I just wish Popov (not that he is a Russian woman) persisted as well. He bailed out too early.

Perhaps, it's RusFed new tactics, promoting transfers rather than stopping them.

What is the promotion then? Mentioned Popov, who has never been in the national team, is still not released. He has to sit out another season.

What's the point in transferring to Belarus?

In other news: Gorbacheva is back on ice!

IOC already stated that all restrictions has been removed from Belorus, but not Russia from their side. ISU has not commented on it yet, but presumably senior Belorusians will be able to compete internationally before senior Russians would. Just because other sports moved on, it doesn’t mean ISU will follow suit. Trofimova wants to compete ASAP, I presume.
