Speaking as a ballroom dancer in my parallel-universe life, combinations like that in just a few minutes on the ice are cringeworthy. On the dance floor, for example, waltz and samba require -- as in they're compulsory above the bronze level -- different shoe styles (closed court shoes vs higher-heeled open sandals), different costume rules ( formal ballroom vs men's loose open shirts or very short dresses with lots of fringe, different hairstyles for both, different types and amount of makeup, etc etc.

Now I'm going to have nightmares about waltz/jive combinations, or waltz/western line dance combinations.......

Pre-comp costume tryout by two friends, without the makeup and hairstyles. This relatively conservative Latin look would cause a disqualification in a waltz event:

Well, I'm not thrilled as well. Although Desperato at least is a new direction for him and it could be fun. Umbrellas is very safe and not inspiring choice, I hate it become a warhorse.
