Kim's representatives end Orser's coaching relationship threads merged

Brian, get over it.

Whoever shuts up first will win this argument and make the other side look silly.

Then Brian won if his agent's statement turns out to be true that he would no longer give interview regarding this issue. Yuna's agent issued a statement wanting him to shut up after Brian's side already decided to shut up was kind of interesting timing. Well, but it is still to be determined if Brian can stick to his own plan.

Nobody will. I think David's reputation will stand just fine. I do feel bad for him though because the only way Orser would have gotten to know about the program if Yuna really does listen with earphones in order to keep things secret from even the other skaters, it had to have been through David (who was NOT expecting Brian to go public CLEARLY). I still think skaters will believe him and to be frank its not THAT THAT big of a deal, just sort of if you want to make it.

I take hits like that all my life but if its important to them emotionally, its important I guess. Life is relative.

It is just that Brian is the one who made a big deal about the secrecy in the past and him breaking it tells you much more than just a slip during the interview. But then he has been out of character (or into his real character) these days anyways.

Yea, I hope so. The Korean media tends to get really touchy and sensitive about these small kinds of details though (I'm Korean myself).

Do we have any more details on the status of Kwak Min-Jung though?

I don't think David will get any criticism from Koreans at ALL unless he sides with Orser lol

Who's Brian's laywer? I heard when he stopped talking he turned over to his lawyer.

I heard about it too, that his lawyer is taking the calls, telling people he will no longer answer his phones regarding the issue. They can still approach him in person tho.

Not Lawyer. AGENT (aka representative). If you're referring to him not talking anymore.

Its amazing Tracy Wilson, David Wilson (except the astonishment comment) are remaining quiet. Sandra Bezic, Tracy Wilson, David Wilson, (Edit: oops) half the skating world elite love both Yuna and Orser. Its like a messy divorce. Silent doesnt' always mean guilty. Loud doesn't always mean guilty either but to me, everyone else's silence speaks volumes.

Since I m practising my english here, what is brouhaha?

A big noisy fight or argument (synonym uproar or ruckus), with the slight connotation that the fight itself is bigger than the issue that they were supposedly fighting about.

Link PLEASE.

I read in an article that when this media person called Brian he transfered the call to his lawyer. Maybe his IMG agent is also a lawyer? btw, I'm really happy that he finally decided to stop talking. maybe he realized his talking didn't do him a good.

David Baden is his AGENT not his Lawyer. He's referring people to his AGENT.

and if there ARE articles saying different you need to give a link - actually any news needs to be given proper linkage/credit. This is not a new rule, yet a lot of people are ignoring it.

I am confused. Based on his CTV interview, Brian said he "gave input with her new program" http://watch.ctv.ca/news/latest/dropped-coach/#clip340453. So I always assumed Yuna's program was never kept secret from him.

Eggs-actly. This music thing warrants no more than a kerfuffle.
I think you are really trying hard to trivialize it.

It's the equivalent of Brian Orser revealing thousands of people's "Christmas gifts" that YuNa wanted to give out. It is a gift that has deep cultural significance. MrBerkeley is right in that the song evokes emotions that go further than the S. Korean anthem, because it is a song that existed long before the North/South Korean division.

You yourself said you wouldn't do it--so why are you disagreeing with people who think it is a sign of lack of respect or tact?

Brian definitely broke skating protocol by revealing her program under these circumstances. He had no right so it was wrong.

OTOH, look at it objectively. Yu Na is getting a lot of criticism for her treatment of Orser right now. The one super- positive thing about her that people are discussing right now is her wonderful new program. So Brian, while acting wrongly, also injected a huge positive note about Yu Na into this melee. At least that's what he did if you see the whole picture and not just one aspect of it.

I don't mean reasons for seperation. I meant they don't have good reasons to justify their unprofessional approach when firing a coach, not a regular coach, but a coach that put his sole and heart in and contributed significantly to Yuna's success. And it is this perceived disrespectful, insensitive approach that really hurt Brian.

Yes, Brian was a fantastic coach to Yuna, and yes, she certainly could have ended her relationship with Brian in a more respectful way.

But I do not think she was particularly disrespectful when she parted ways with Brian. Many skaters terminate their relationships with their coaches at will; a single phone call, an email, or sometimes the oral agreement would run out and the skater would simply choose not to re-enter into it, and silenty part ways with their coach. I think the last synario is what had happened here.
