Some japanese, which are not so "big" fans of figure skating, still recognized and talked with him after in some Tokyo shoping mall

Oh no, we can't wait until June 23 to see the tv version! And then the show is only one hour long? :disapp: Please let there be some good fancams...

^Ouch. Fair, but ouch.

Hopefully they'll broadcast Plushy's performance. Well, best case scenario: they change their minds and just broadcasts the whole thing (Yuzu, Plushy, Honda, Johnny, et. al).

LOL. By low-key, I meant taking it easy on the ice (by Plushy standards at least)...no quad battles with Yuzu or anything like that ;) Yes...Assisai would work. Maybe a "sequel" to Assisai in the same outfit?
Shh, don't give these crazy boys any ideas. Well, crazy boy and crazy man.

No objections to a sequel to Assisai! Though I'd prefer a new outfit, but with the same ability to "change." ;) (Btw, anyone know who came up with the original Assisai? I heard Mishin first brought up Sex Bomb but did Plushy think of Assisai on his own?)

I'm always a little amused when these show line-ups pop up and I see someone who retired eons ago... who Plushy used to compete with... Mental dialogue with Honda would be pretty funny. (Plushy: Oh yeah, that guy who used to compete with me. Honda: That crazy dude who used to compete with me is still competing?!)

Plushy is surely a living legend. I mean it's not just Yuzuru, the cast of Together on ice obviously will fanboy over Plushy!

Yana's there? Ah, if so, then there is hope for us! Didn't she manage to sneak in a camera into one of those Japanese shows? (All right, I don't know, she might have got permission to do so - some exemption or something for all I know, but.... it's far more exciting/fun to think it was clandestine... :) ) Yana, our heroine! See us fans done right, please!

Lovely to see them all together. I'm a bit confused about how Yana managed to get to the middle of the rink in high heels. Maybe Plushy carried her?

Lol, yes, let's get some clandestine recordings!

I didn't even notice Yana's shoes...yes, maybe Plushy carried her, or she rode in on the Zamboni. :p

I wonder what his program(s) will be? Did he have a new exhibition planned for Sochi that he finally gets to perform? Or something with one of the local bands playing at the show?

or she rode in on the Zamboni.
I didn't think of that!

Plushy skating to J-pop would totally make my day! (Okay, I'm probably the only one, but still...) But I don't think they could've rehearsed something/gotten something ready in time? I mean, it's not like they'd scheduled this far in advance (unless they did and simply kept it secret for a looooong time?)

are you sure those are heels? to me it looks like she's wearing simple ballerinas and just stands on tiptoes

I think so, too. and I am short-sighted. For sure Yana would not risk her expensive high heels on the ice, being the wife of the ice king.

Yeah, it's hard to say how long this has been in the works. I remember on the last video message he sent to Yuzu (a couple months ago?), he said he would see him soon in Japan...maybe they didn't confirm it until the last minute in case of a health concern. I guess he could have had recorded music to work with, but we'll see what he has planned.

I don't know much about j-pop, but I do like "Change" by Monkey Majik and I think it's safe to say the bands at Yuzu's show should be a little more energetic, vibrant and upbeat than Hiromi Go...:slink:

Woah, I think you might be right. That seems like an awfully weird thing to do though. But so is walking out on the ice in 5-inch heels and potentially poking a hole.

Yowch. Hiromi Go really didn't do J-pop any favours in the eyes of the international skating community that night. I hope the bands at Yuzu's show will be more energetic. Not even the more low-key, detail-oriented Dai managed to pull off Hiromi Go's ZzzzZzz singing. With Plushy, it'll be a total mismatch. (I'm fine with him skating to a ballad, but it should be a ballad with more oomph and power).

Plushy will skate an old program I believe. He had no time. And honestly I saw a good gala programs from him in 2010, Je suise malade and the Mack the knife. The Caruso was an old program's restoration, the Hava Nagila was a competitive program plan. :(

Yes, maybe Plushy carried Yana with Zamboni.. He can drive Zamboni http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QigMQ9Vh668 so cute! ( Bingo boom commercial, that is the Russian lottery)

I made a collection about Yuzuru and Plushy.

Plushy said to Yuzuru in 2011: "when you surpass me it will be your era next" !!!

Zakrajsek is also an advocate of periodization -- varying training intensity over time -- and thinks the Japanese teenager may be peaking just right.
"People who taper [off] too soon, and too much, generally don't deliver key performances," he said. "Yuzuru is young, and he's topping up for confidence. Someone like Plushenko, who is much older (31), can top down and still deliver in competition."
....

The men's short program takes place Thursday, so Hanyu's job lies ahead. He isn't in touch with any friends on social media, his custom during competitions. He enjoyed participating in the team event, i n which Japan placed fifth overall, and was a bit starstruck to compete against Plushenko.
"I have admired him for a very long time," he said. "He is my idol. I am so glad to compete with him on the same ice. I want to act and perform just like Plushenko."

Orser hears this and makes a bit of a face.
"Really? I don't know about that," he said. "I was quite surprised with Plushenko in the team event. He did stuff I didn't expect. I mean, he was alive when I competed. I've skated in shows with him.
"But I think what Yuzu meant was he wants to be like him, in that Plushenko is a superstar."
