We should see some better scores for the teams at CoC.

No. Skate America and Skate Canada always had better scores because they have home country dance teams to overscore. China doesn't have top 20 dance team, so Cup of China events usually have fair scores, especially for PCS.

The past few posts have been about the SD requirements so I was talking about levels not program component scores. None of the tech panel at SC was Canadian, in fact two were from the U.S. so I would think their bias would lean towards promoting a U.S. team or demoting its direct competition whether that U.S. team is their or not. Whether China or any other country has top dance teams to be taken care of or not by the panels there is always a method to their madness. It usually becomes apparent by the end of the GP season.

I've been saying that China and Japan should take some dance teams from small federations under their wing and overscore them just to make the field more even. ;)

Not quite correct. The technical panel at Skate Canada included only one American.

Technical Specialist: Monica MacDonald - Australia
Asst Tech Specialist: Galit Chait Moracci - Israel
Controller: Hal Marron - USA

There are currently no ISU certified (for Grand Prix or higher level of competition) technical specialists from China.

Halina G-P is traditionally easier on the dancers with their Technical Levels compared to H. Marron, and G. Chait who were at Skate Canada and are known to make tough assessments. We should see some better scores for the teams at CoC.

Definitely agree with this assessment

Yes , Galit represents Israel but she resides, coaches and associates professionally with other U.S. Dance coaches. i will never know why coaches are allowed to be specialists in the same discipline that their own skaters are competing in. Such a conflict of interest.

As always, please post any live streaming links as they become available. I have the links from last week and will check them to see if they still work this week as soon as the event starts.

Well, beddy-bye time for me. I'll wake up to results. That's what I love in competitions are held in Eastern Asia.

The new Chinese dance pair has already withdrawn? Didn't they show up at the practice and then got injured?

Galit Chait is in New Jersey with the Israeli skaters

Well the previous links from Skate Canada are all showing soccer and cricket, so I'm hoping someone will post a good working stream. Or else I stayed up this late for nought! :)

And just the other week, people were complaining about the Israeli judge's connections to Russia. Which Galit certainly has connections to as well. She's also married to an Italian. Ice dance is a very interwoven world. Find me a judge or specialist who does not have personal connections to Russian, North American, or French ice dance. At least Galit's connections are international. Personally, I am grateful to have specialists & judges who actually understand the discipline.

Thanks Sunny! Unfortunately I'm in Canada and it's not working here, but I've tuned into the British Eurosport 2 and they're recapping the mens' free from Skate Canada and hoping the COC Short Dance follows after that. Hoping....
