Tatiana Tarasova, legendary figure skating expert: "We have so many girls, they all are good. Evgenia Medvedeva acted very cool in the Grand Prix series, went on a world record in the Grand Prix finals. She has a good chance in the fight against Elizaveta Tuktamysheva and Elena Radionova. Could she get it? We'll see, so there is competition. Now back overall darling Julia Lipnitskaya and Adelina Sotnikova - the Olympics hero in Sochi. Simply the strongest roster." My lord...

We all know the Russians have a very deep team but jeez. When you see it on paper it's just flat out incredible/terrifying.

Russian Nationals is going to be more exciting than Euros

The roster is way more competitive than the one at Euros.
You must perform extremely well if you want to enter (just enter) Euros or Worlds.

Currently I can't see anyone in Europe (not from Russia) to be in the top 10 (12 ?) in such a fierce competition.

It's a pretty strong lineup, the top 10 is very good and everyone in it can score 180+ or even 190+ as can a few who are potentially outside the top 10.

Regarding the overall level of competition, this looks to be the highest level tournament this season, better than even worlds.

Omg at the competition.
At 2015 worlds, ladies with 32-33 TES would make top 10 worlds.
This is definitely more competition that euros would ever have, and imho can be as nasty as worlds too...

Russian should be given 4 spots at Worlds. Is it possible ISU changes the rule in the future? Scoring system can change, why not quota per country, for the better of the sports?

In my experience, when quotas change they get smaller rather than larger. I have a distinct memory of a World or Olympic vault final where all three of the highest vault qualifying scores were by Romanian gymnasts, but the third athlete had no opportunity to compete for the bronze medal because only 2 athletes per country are allowed to go to the final. At least in skating, three spots can be earned so that theoretically the top three athletes in the world have the opportunity to medal.

Preparing for heartbreak because I just know one of my favs will get be left behind, honestly Euros and Worlds are probably less stressful for these girls than Nationals

Actually something I really could see is some Russian figure skaters moving to live in other countries just so that they'd have a better chance of actually competing, especially as most of them would be truly celebrated as the best figure skater their country has ever seen. Luckily not many new good senior eligible ladies are coming for next season so it'll calm down just a little.
