Muramoto/Reed have WD
Chris has a knee injury

Noooo. I came her to get cheered up after bad competitions today, a crazy Ski jumping competition because of clearly bad prepared landing slope (yeah, it's happening not only in figure skating) and I read that Kana & Chris WD? WHY??? I planned to wake up at 4:30 am for them! :furious: :tantrum:

Get well Chris!

Hmm ... the landing slope wasn't bad today imo. The bent binding cones (or whatever they are called in English, those things that Simon Amman bent first) are the problem. Ski jumping is an outdoor sport, they have to be able to deal with those kind of conditions and their skiing skills should be above average.
Same goes for figure skaters to a certain degree, they should be able to handle not perfect conditions.

I have a question for Francophones, s'il vous plait. Is Marie-Jade Lauriault's last name pronounced to rhythm with English "oreo," like the cookie? Is Jade pronounced like the gem stone in English?

Peter Prevc skills are surely above average, but he still fell. Same with Kamil Stoch and lots of other Ski jumpers who had problem with keeping their skis after landing, I think there was only one area that was super slippery or something, but it could be dangerous. And I know it's harder to maintain good conditions outside, since you can't control weather... but still, it was not best, but to be fair, at least there was something done to lessen wind that usually interrupted competitions a lot, kudos to organizators for that  I heard/read many times Ski jumpers complaining about bad conditions of jumping hill, and they have right to, it's their health that is risked. As to figure skaters, it's not like their specially train in imperfect conditions, they have right to think they will skate in well prepared ice rink, which is indoor, so should be no problem. I can be wrong of course, maybe Ski jumpers are rusty since it's a first competition, hope there will be less problems tomorrow!

Back to the topic: clean skates everyone tomorrow! I'll try to watch :)

Sad to here that. What would be a safety concern...maybe injury or flu? I wish all the best for them.

Seconding the Noooooooo

A badly prepared surface sounds like it would be more dangerous in ski jumping than figure skating. No one was hurt, right?
