Evgenia keeps beating skaters at their best with her more than usual skating. It gives an idea about how perfect she is. Has any other skater in history done that? In any other era Osmond would win with ease. She is even better than all Russians. Incredible.y

Daleman's 3T+3T has the highest GOE of +2.10.

As she deserves. That thing is a beauty. And I think this makes it the third time this season she maxes out the GOE on that combo internationally.

Kaetlyn got really tentative at some points but I think it was nerves and just trying to make sure she was clean.

What a great event, overall very high quality. I stood up for two skaters, Wakaba and Anna P. And my mum got to throw the socks she knitted for Evgenia :)

I just don't really understand the 3 point difference in between evgenia and her small jumps and Kaetlyn and her monstrous jumps. Also the 1.5 point gap in pcs??? Do not agree... Kaetlyn ice coverage speed and line is wayyyyy better than evgenia IMO

I adore Anna and I still hope she'll be on the podium, but I'm very happy for Gabby...she's improved so much and she has the full package, imo. I would be upset to see anyone else beating Anna, but I'm ok with this top 3 (for now).

Especially happy for Gabby. Those who bullied can eat straw now .
There's a Vietnamese idiom which means someone who's in a league of their own wants to be beaten . Looking forward to Zagitova next year.

Osmond need to restrategise her jump layout. She just need to move one of her first 2 jumps into the 2nd half, she'd have gained bigly.

As usual. The make up of the judges really tilt the PCS, especially from the European judges, France, Austria, GBR, Norway.

I kind of agree although her 3Lz even in the 1st half scores higher then Meds 3LO in the 2nd half - so she is fine with that. But if she can move her combo to the 2nd half she would have higher BV then Med and probably even higher TES!
But one judge really hammered Osmond in PCS given her several marks in the 7s - which is just crazy!

Why have the Italians taken over the camera feed? They are interviewing Carolina (I'm watching icenetwork).

Congratulations to the Canadian ladies! Medvedeva slayed as usual, too. Should be an easy win for her, unless Kaetlyn pulls off the unthinkable.

Kaetlyn was honestly underscored a bit... that SP was her best of the season and arguably THE best of the season. I wanna have a lil' chat with judge 3 who gave her 7.75/7.25/8.00/7.25/8.25 was... :rolleye:

Yay Gabby for having the best element of the SP with that amazing 3+3.

Karen and Ashley were gifted by the tech spec on their jump landings.. but at least it keeps the US in the hunt for 3 spots. Poor Japan... and uncharacteristic mistakes from Kostner - I don't think I've ever seen her flub that spin before -- again, judge 3 destroyed her on PCS, 7.50/6.50/7.50/7.00/8.00.

Karen could be a medal threat or fall to the bottom or even out of the top ten. I think Shin was being nice because I could see some saying the combo was UR and it being such a close battle then wagner would have been in the final group. the only good thing for the Americans is that they have two vulnerable Canadians ahead of them (although that comment in itself is an odd one). If somehow both Canadians beat all the Americans that would be such a feat. But with the odds that at least one Canadian will fall down the ladder considerably and Ashley able to pass Maria S. It looks good for three American spots. But the Japanese - whoa Nellie. Mao better hope for a big comeback.

Shin is not tech controller today. He was at JW.

You score all skaters fairly in any competition and you will always have score difference between Evgenia and others as she is clearly better than other skaters including her own country.

I think Medevedeva is getting bored and needs something to challenge her. Ashley has some work to do.

If you mean in terms of competition - next year I think she'll feel that with Zagitova and maybe Tsurskaya(I don't want to give up hope yet) if she can learn to deal with her height/has no major injury issues.

In terms of programs - I think a more nuanced program would do her well.

No URs for Ashley, but she's getting dinged by not maximizing her GOE. None of her elements are above-average, and the judges notice.

Tech panel is either totally blind or extremely pro-USA because neither Wagner nor Chen got any URs here. One could think these championships are skated in US again. Most laughable tech panel I have seen for a while. They are really pushing for three spots for US for next season.

Wagner's EXTREMELY clear URs.

Chen's clear UR.

Just stopping by to congratulate all the ladies. Whew, what a competition! Really gutted for poor Mai. Kaetlyn was phenomenal, as was Gabby. Really fun crowd!

GOEs among the top 3 ladies are interesting to me:

Evgenia and Kaetlyn got virtually the same GOEs for jumps. 1.80 for the combo (Arm variation vs. Huge height/distance) and 1.40 for the solo (Transition in/out vs. Huge height/distance), and 1.00 for 2A ( Arm variation vs. Huge height/distance).

Gaby's 3T+3T got the perfect score of (8) 3 and (1) 2, beating the top two.

Their Stsqs all got lv 4 and GOE of 1.80, 1.50, 1.30 respectively. (ref: Anna lv4 1.60 and Caro lv4 1.50)

Edit; thank you Tolstoj for the correction on the feature of Evgenia's solo jump. ;)
