Only 11. The competition is tough but unless a major bombing Mihara will probably qualify.

A question: Mana Kawabe is competing in seniors, does that mean she can't compete in both junior nats and senior nats this year?
My top 11 prediction (no particular order):
Kaori Sakamoto
Mako Yamashita
Mana Kawabe
Mai Mihara
Yuna Shiraiwa
Rika Hongo
Rin Nitaya
Yuhana Yokoi
Yura Matsuda
Miyabi Oba
Ayaka Hosoda

Mana Kawabe turned 15 and this is her first senior year, according to the local media. Mana will compete at the Japanese national championships as a senior skater. Yuhana Yokoi delayed her senior debut until age 18, which was a strategic move that made her clinch the junior national title. Mana Kawabe is the reigning junior champ and she is done with the junior level.

Yes they are, in the junior category. And there are Komatsubara/Koleto and Hirayama/Tateno in seniors.

I somehow thought that she turned 15 after july this year but i see she's born in 2004. A real threat for worlds spots then.

The judges can't be serious. A program with a good 3A, then 3S and 3-2 gets almost the same marks as one with 4-3, fall on 4S and a bit messy 3A? Sorry but I don't agree with the benevolent treatment Keiji is getting at the expense of Sota, or Ryuju who also had more difficult elements, at least he had a 3-3 and 3Lz. Keiji is better at PCS than these two with his current programs, but no way should such a junior girl like layout be getting such generous marks as to score 77! Puke-worthy, especially since this is not the first time the judges are saving Keiji with a sub-par layout. they did that at last Nats too. They should be ashamed of themselves for such blatant favoritism. Keiji can skate feeling perfectly at ease, while the other boys here know they won't be propped up no matter what, and can't relax mentally like he can. And I say that as someone who actually likes Keiji. But this is just not fair.
Well done to Kazuki, OTOH.

 Mai and Yuna. They are coming back strong after illness and injury.
7 points between 11th and 20th. The free skate will be decisive.

Good skates for junior ladies. I hope Rino Matsuike will do better tomorrow. She did two mistakes but slayed a 3-3 as last element.

Keiji is the Kostner of Japan.

Eh I've been telling everyone who'll listen that Tanaka is overscored and overrated for the past two seasons, and he's robbed Tomono before.

Keiji didn't, the judges have. I don't have an issue with Keiji, but with the points he's awarded by Japanese judges.

Jr Men is going to be an interesting event, I hope there are videos. I'm now going to look for one with Mai and Rika H...
