2010-2011 Programs by Discipline

Re: 2010-2011 Season Programs! All Disciplines

Then clearly they are chaps without trousers underneath--no profanity required :)

Glad to hear Shae Lynn is doing choreo for Kiira!

Re: 2010-2011 Season Programs! All Disciplines

Gaak! I can't access Carolina's "Faun" program, so I'll have to wait it out. I think if anyone could pull it off, it's Carolina, who has a faun-like quality to her movement and delivery. I agree that she'll have big skates to fill, though. Just last week I re-watched John Curry, who to me is the ultimate interpreter of that music, though Janet Lynn and Yuka Sato are no slouches at it either. I'd love to see Carolina do well this year. She has so much that's praiseworthy; seemingly everything except consistency.

As for chancy language, I like the idea of a bit of restraint. I'm on another site that's very strict because it's got kids as young as twelve and thirteen, plus their parents, and it's refreshing to know that I'm not going to see words that have to be x-ed out. I live in a city where you hear mothers using those words to their four-year-old children on the street. Getting kind of tired of it. Happy to be here!

 PJ Kwong's latest blog post has me dying to get a look at C/P's Chris Dean FD . and R/H's "Cinderella" sounds intriguing , too.

Excerpt :
Kharis Ralph and Asher Hill are going to be the subject of an upcoming blog and suffice to say that Kharis' sweet smile and dainty presence on the ice are the perfect counterpoint for partner Asher's dashing masculinity highlighted wonderfully in their "Cinderella" short dance.

The piece de resistance came as the show's final skaters, Vanessa Crone and Paul Poirier took their position to skate an exhibition program. The music failed and instead of bailing, they performed what was supposed to be the first part only of their "Eleanor Rigby" free dance. This is the program that was choreographed by the legendary Christopher Dean and we were being afforded a first look, however small which was exciting. I kept waiting for the music to stop. It didn't and they skated the whole program. What struck me were the layers of movement and the "oneness" of Vanessa and Paul even more so because the program is still very new. There is a lift that is so startling in its' originality, it took me a second to register that what I had seen was accurate.

Re: 2010-2011 Season Programs! All Disciplines

He is saying that all of last seasons problems were due to illness and he is healthy now and will do a lot better.

I highly doubt that, considering he has always been inconsistent. Perhaps illness further hindered him, but he should pay more attention to his actual jump technique. His free leg can get a bit wrappy sometimes and he also has a tendency of jerking his body into the rotation. These are things he needs to be mindful of if he wants to improve.

 I was just here ,and now I have to come back again. I just went over to FSU to see if there were any other reports of the Lane & Razgulajevs school gala...

I'm saying to myself ," Don't Panic "..but I think I maybe should have my towel just in case...Someone said that R/H's "Summertime" FD featured an arrangement that seemed to be sort of African themed ...then they added..( again )

I'll wait and see ( of course) but this makes me feel ..just tired. If it's true , enough , already. We get it. Move on.

Yes but last season he took inconsistent to a whole new level, and it was more like he was consistently performing poorly, I actually think his illness and choosing to carry on with his training when he should have rested had a lot to do with his disaster of last season. His jump technique is actually pretty good, I think his relaxed demeanor on the ice has more to do with why he often misses his jumps.

Word from the Glacier Falls competition is that Rachael Flatt skated to:

SP Summertime + some other piece
LP Slaughter on Tenth Avenue by Richard Rogers.
