2014 Worlds Men Short Program

Wow why couldn't Tatsuki skate like that at the Olympics? Simply stunning! Simon Reed says it was one of the best SPs he ever saw.

And do you know what? I don't even think that you likes Kovtun. How it comes that woth so many lover of Kovtun nowone make a thread for him in fan
fests? Because, actually very few persons loves his kste, but are applieng "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". That is why your glee and bad taste looks even worse.

i never understand why if someone likes a skater must put down everyone else who challange him. It was very good for Yagudin to have Plushenko, he might never went so far, move to Tarasova. You should be happy about that great era, because it would have been boring to have Yagudin without rival.

I don't mind Kovtun, his jumps are wonky, and his style is very... "Russian," but I don't dislike him. (I disagree, btw, that Yagudin wouldn't have been as great as he was without Plushenko. Great champions always push themselves. If it wasn't Plushenko, it would have been another skater that Mishin took a shine to and eschewed Yagudin. That's Mishin's MO.)

It's funny how Javi and Yuzuru are always, Always in the same group, I wonder what the consequences are as far as coaching

Machida dumped his foreign coach who taught him quad and brought him to where he is in January. A bit ungraceful IMO.
I thought Onishi was the jump coach and Liu was for overall refinement and mental training.

It says that he currently has no coaches according to his ISU bio. I wonder why. I wonder if it has to do with his retirement plans or something, since he won't continue to 2018.

You know what, I don't even think he got overscored, Though we're in Japan, It deserved around a 9.00 for PCS

Was fantastic, +GOE on everything.

Damn it i hate him ....

I agree (tho I don't hate him) - totally deserved! If that doesn't get 10s, nothing can ever.

Ah, such a great group now, four skaters i like, two i might like...

The great think for now a place in top 10 is sure for Kovtun, this is great! Next year we might get Pitkeev to see on senior stage :yay:

Yes. And Kovtun deserves criticism because the last time he "performed when it mattered" was the JGPF in 2012 - when his main opponent was on enough antihistamine to knock a grown man out cold.

It is Kovtun's own fault that there is only one spot this year anyway. Plushenko was magnificent in Sochi. Unfortunately, the ask was too great. But if you want to blame someone, blame the RFSF, because Plushy told them to call Kovtun, and they lied to his face and told him they couldn't find him.

Russians in a position of power doing something underhanded and slimy. Color me surprised. :rolleye:

Majorov...what are you doing?

People stop the Kovtun/Plushenko talk, this is the Worlds Men SP Thread.

Does Yuzuru look nervous or am I imagining things?
