So somehow, Radionova with a fall, dumb dialogue, and almost no romantic feeling whatsoever to portray Titanic received higher PCS scores than Mao Asada and Satoko Miyahara.

No offense. But how does judges evaluate skating skills? By the highest amount of TES? By whoever is the most consistent throughout the year? Some of these skaters doesn't deserve these marks for PCS (And I'm not just talking about Evgenia). Heck, except for probably Mao and Satoko, none of them are mid 8's worthy yet.

Yes, we know the role she's playing, but even her red dress and hair color/makeup last year didn't look as harsh or aging. Ash is pretty, and I just think her presentation this season isn't doing her any favors.

Well, to be fair, Evgenia's flutz is slightly better than Sasha's. Maybe in a few years she'll copy Sasha's Olympic silver too? (After improving her lutz edge of course, etc etc.)

Honestly it's apples to oranges. Evgenia's is A LOT faster, but Sasha was able to keep her hip down and so probably had better control really.

I tend to ignore everything from ankle down with Sasha, hahaha.

I literally do not understand why Satoko isn't called on her URs when everyone else is.

She has many, many GORGEOUS qualities to her skating, but how can the scoring be fair when she isn't called on her URs?

This is 100% Correct! Doesn't the song talk about her make up flaking and how the show must go on. If you know anything the history of Moulin Rouge, you'd completely understand Ashley's look for her free program. Also, She's not 19 anymore. She's doing things right and when she nails her programs they're great. She just has to bring it.

They started out by giving high scores to Ashley, couldn't really drop that much if others was better. Everybody was pretty much overscored. It's going to be crazy by the worlds.

To the people complaining about Ashley's makeup/performance: it's a character. I watch that program, and she IS Satine from Moulin Rouge. The makeup is appropriate for the character.

So disgusted with the PCS for everyone I couldn't even watch Medvedeva.

Yes, it's appropriate for Satine, but she wears the same makeup for most of her programs. It's her personal style- the woman loves a strong lip and a smokey eye.

Gracie's eyebrows... have good and bad days. Today was a bad day.

Ridiculous scores all across the board. I agree with the placement, but scores for all of the skaters should be much lower. What are these judges smoking right now? All of the skaters pretty much performed exactly same way or even worse than they did couple of "weeks" ago, but scores got increased like crazy all of sudden. It seems that they eagerly want to break the WR with much weaker performances. Why the heck they have to do that? Why do we even have COP in the first place if we cannot have some sort of standards on scores? It is pretty much 6.0 judging; :shocked:

Well, Yuna's WR survived another day! Man, Russian Nationals will be tough. World Champ with or without a 3A, World Bronze medalist with grit, or Jr. World Champ + now GPF Champ? Just wow, bravo to all! Now, I must sleep.

I sound like a broken record now, but this is just comical now. Literally every competitor here has been overscored in pcs or tes(or both). They're going to be in for a rude awakening with the scores at the next competition(or not. maybe there's more crack to go around amongst the judges).

Does it really matter if all of them are overscored? If it's all about relative scores no? Big scores allow for better headlines :agree:

Wagner : Terrific 3-3. Great skate. A few UR I thought but I'll wait for the protocols.

Gold : Ok let's try and be positive => Good for her on fighting to land the 3 salchow at the end.

Miyahara : I was watching the event with my parents and they loved her. I acknowledge the program is exquisite but I just don't agree with calling her jumps "triple jumps".

Asada : my dad said "Her sleeves are too long. It bothers her when she jumps" hahaha. Oh well Mao. Even if I always get ready for her meltdowns, I'm still disappointed. Oh my, what a tough skate. Hope she can still enjoy competing, because she seems to go downhill as the season goes.

Radionova : Well, she'll come back. I'm not too concerned.

Medvedeva : Okay, I hear the haters, she doesn't have the greatest jump technique or the best skating skills yet, but come on, the girl is wonderful!!! I hope she can keep her consistency as she grows. Right now, I'm again so impressed by that 16 y-o girl! So much maturity, and I love her routines. And well, if she managed to make Eteri smile, what more could you ask?

I truly admire Evgenia, not just about her skating, but her nerve of steel, something I can learn as an adult.
I would want Elena second, but it looks like judges weren't willing to do that even when she didn't have the fall today.

It's anchoring... You don't see 6.0 for SS 9.5 for interpretion, they pull each other down but the ratios should still be accurate amongst the different categories.

I think that Medvedeva's ahead of all other "juniors" in SS actually, and her transitions are also the best by far. It also is clear that her SS have actually improved significantly since her first grand prix, which is very impressive for such a short period of time.

well I'm happy Evgenia has a lovely style that I like to watch, and her technical skills aren't to be sneezed at.
Plus my one biggest wish for this GPF is to have Satoko on the podium and have the judges at least acknowledge how good she is. (I don't get why people are so nitpicky over her - if it's not her jumps, it's something else. Maybe it is true that short people gets the **** end of cognitive/ social bias)
but anyways, Tiny Queen is on the podium, so yay!

Totally did not expect Mao bombing like that though. oof @__@

Warrior Princess did it again! Is it possible this kid could win Worlds? Can't wait to watch the Eurosport Brits call it.

And Ashley made me cry. So happy they gave her a standing ovation. She deserved it.

Interesting competition! I'm not sure how I would place elena or Satoko. One skater has one of the worst competitive programs ever and the other honestly cheats most of her jumps Congrats to the tano-queen although I find her tanos on every jump actually subtracting from her overall skating and I would not reward them if I were a judge. Hate to reference Yuna, but she was always classy with the way she milked the scoring system by doing different transitions after and before each jump and never doing more than one tano in a program. I liked how she never used the same double axel entrance in the same program.
