Seems to be a decent crowd here... they should hold the JGP here more often. There was also a good crowd that showed up to the winter universiade in Spain last year too.

Michaela DU TOIT, from South Africa
3 lutz, fall.
2 Salchow, 2toe fall
3 toe, ur.
Slow Footwork.
Sit spin.
3toe, 2toe, 2 Loop
2 Axel 2 loop.
2 Axel

Looks somewhat resigned, but didn't fall apart.

Wow, pbp is kind of hard.

Brian Orser is her coach. He doesn't look that excited to be here with her, then forces a smile when they announce her scores.

75.10, seasons best.

This season is like Baz Luhrman's greatest hits! What is going on!! He is truly the phantom of the Oprah. Evil cousin of Lord A.L.Webber.

Han Yan uses same music, this girl looks good.

Kailani Craine, from Australia. Here she is as Juliet.

Charlotte into 3 Flip or Toe?
2 Axel, 2 loop, fall.

2 Axel.
Camel-catchfoot-sit y -combi spin.
Footwork.
Layback into biellman.
Dramatic ending pose.

One jump that I'm not quite sure about... but oh well.

All I can say is, now I understand the hype!!!

Hard to believe she is only 13.

Note to Team Tessa. It is time to build that Wiki page Tessa's parents/coaches/agent!!!

Tessa Hong, Serenade for strings by Tchaikovsky.

2Axel 2 Toe. (was it supposed to be 3 toe?)
3 Lutz- 3Toe, a little forced but done.
3 Flip, slip into fall.
A beautiful layback.
Footwork, very graceful, but perhaps a bit slow.
3 Lutz
2 Axel, half loop, 3 Salchow.
Sit spin into catchfoot, combi thingy.
3 Loop
3 Salchow.
Ending spin.

Well, I guess the opening was supposed to be a double, cause she did seven triples!

Much easier to tell what jumps she did, because of her clear technique.

Looks pretty pleased with herself, but in a very subdued way. She looks like a porcelain doll in the kiss and cry.

102.24. Hmm... I'm trying to figure out why Brynne scored better than her... I'm not sure. Probably some jumps were downgraded...

She's so elegant. Her movement are so smooth. All she needs is the jumps and her PCS is going to carry her the rest of the way.

Hopefully Tom can get Tessa's jumps bigger and with better technique but over 100 points in her first JGP is a huge score even with suspect jumps.

This last group is going to be crazy... tbh, I think the pressure is more on the Russian ladies and I"m a little doubtful on how they'll handle it.

I think her petite size and delicate presentation probably stood out too much from these bigger sized juniors who skated bigger and more powerful with more obvious music and interpretation. Her choice is really surprising for a junior... hard piece of music to interpret quite frankly.

Go Yunaa!!! :p
