2015 Skate Canada Mens Free Skate

oMG I love Michal in this costume and the program is so nice! His 3a is die for!
Love the red boots!!!

I mean really? Yuzu is so beloved for some strange reason. He can jump, he's doll-baby cute and a spirited competitor, but NOT a complete skater. Quad rep, blind judges, wacky IJS-scoring, and politics are the only excuses for such high scores with errors. PCS should not be that high, and tech is overdone with mistakes too.

LOL Patrick that you??

That's the code phrase for when a program didn't fit someone's personal taste.

:laugh2:

There's no subjectivity in "empty skating" versus "executing choreography."

Luckily Yuzuru's program is SO FULL of choreography, but I understand that the choreography (particularly since it has a very Japanese theme) is up to personal taste.

to be fair the lutz was right at the end after everything else he had already done

To be fair? Are you kidding? Judges are way overboard more than fair to the Little Prince, Quad King Hanyu. Hope Patrick brings his A-game. And I'm not a huge Patrick fan either, btw.

Yes, Yuzuru, that should do! :cheer:
I thought he held back a little right from the beginning, probably to keep the energy for all the jumps - it was his first big event with 3 quads after all and he really needed to land his stuff to make the GPF. It's alright, and it was still a good performance. But he wasn't quite as fast as he can be, and he had more conviction before too. I guess 88+ PCS is okay (it'll depend on what the others will get though too, of course).

Now good luck Nam! :cheer:

Can you shut up and go out there land 3 quads and 2 triple axel with tons of transitions before it? Or tell your favorite to do so?

Yuzu is just so adorable. Love how miked this K&C is so we can hear every last thing said. He is the cutest. In addition to being a KILLER competitor. So proud of him!

I have not watched the performance yet but this should be Yuzuru's best chereograph fs in a while. I wonder if he too tried to execute good chereography or some people here will hate his skate no matter what?

Great edge work, fluid skating, great speed, nice transitions/choreography, good intensity, interpretation and passion, incredible jumps, gorgeous fast spins, great step sequences, originality and difficulty. Enough for you?

Really surprised to see so many Hanyu detractors - I thought that FS was really great. He's so fierce and captivating on the ice...even his falls are dramatic! That was a really nice redemption skate for him, with some room to grow.

Thumbs up buttons are great but I want down buttons as well.

gsk8 already made it clear that there would be no new thumbs down button because it doesn't serve a constructive purpose.

Both. The 2nd reason goes into full bloom when he delivers because when he does, there's only 1 person who can possible challenge him
