BTW, not Max and Ashley's first on-ice lift together.
They did one for Skate for Hope a couple of years ago.
And we've seen Max lift quite a few ladies (and at least one man, LOL) off ice: most recently, Madi Chock; Jeremy Ten; Vale Marchei; Kirsten M-T, Hannah Miller .. I'm forgetting someone, I'm sure ...
Max lifted Ashley the same way during SOI last year I believe so this is not the first time, I saw a photo during the summer

But BTW, Max has said that Maddie and he would never compete together as a pair b/c they jump in opposite directions.
So my stupid questions:
Is it illegal for a pair to compete with mirror-image jumps? Or just rare?

I didn't realise they jumped in opposite directions!
Mirror pairs are not illegal, but they look AMAZING. There was an Australian novice pair who jumped opposite ways; it looked so cool.

Yamaguchi/Galindo jumped in opposite directions. I guess it's more difficult, but not illegal.

You lot are getting to know me too well!
And anyway, why should Liza change her dress? It was just a freak accident that happened just once (albeit at the biggest competition of the year) out of how many Galas?
It's not like a certain skater who has been having nip slips on a regular basis this season after changing from her original dress...
