Are you sure Ashley is not just joking around?? Her tone did not come across to me as serious when I saw the tweet before. Is it just me???

I can see that her words are open to different interpretations, but I am surprised that some are taking them seriously.

Really? She's joking? My Ashley Wagner interpretational skills suck big time then. I really thought she's serious.

And I kinda hope she's serious :slink:

Edit: some people in the comment section under her twit took this seriously too. So I'm not alone

Yes, I knew/know that you are not alone. That is why my post above referred to "some" who are taking Ashley seriously.

I did want to make note of the possibility that she is joking ... esp. given that her tweets often do show her sense of humor (one of the reasons that Ashley is so lovable :luv17:).

But was not saying that I (or anyone) can definitively exclude the possibility that she is serious.

Look forward to hearing more from Ashley .

The thing is, even though i kinda thought she was joking... i can 100% see her both picking her music this way and announcing it this way... so yeah it is hard to tell. It does come across simultaneously as a joke and a very Ashley thing to say and do... so who knows.

And actually I think this could work for her as well.

I like Rachael's East of Eden far better than Kwan's although the too vivid yellow costume was not desirable. However, my ultimate East of Eden version is Tatsuki Machida's performance so far. I hope Sean makes a breakthrough with the new program next season just like Tatsuki did. :cheer:

Saw Machida skate it as his EX at Skate America 2014. It was really wonderful! I love Michelle Kwan's version(s) too.

Maybe Game of Thrones could work? If they come up with a truly good program she could go viral but it'll be difficult, when I saw the tweet it seemed like she was just joking. I like her better brunette than blonde anyway.

Michal Brezina skated to Game of Thrones already and I thought it was okay, he didn't do so hot at Worlds that season but he was very well dressed IMO.

Lutricia Bock
SP: Love in Venice (Choreo Camerlengo)

Chase Belmontes (USA):
Short Program: “Last Days” by Max Richter (music from the The Leftovers TV show)
Long Program: Selections from Jekyll & Hyde musical (1994 album featuring Anthony Warlow; Songs: Alive, Transformation, Letting Go and The Way Back)
Choreographer: Phillip Mills

I hate the song "Sway" and the Pussycat Dolls. But I'll keep an open mind about it. I can already imagine the choreography and facial expressions.

I definitely interpreted Ashley's tweet as a joke, but now I kind of want to see it. I can't decide if I'd want her to be Cersei or Arya.

Alaine Chartrand- SP- Sway
FS- Rome
Assuming it's the HBO show from a few seasons ago, love this news. Great show with beautiful music.

neat way to test the water actually  just throw it out there, and if 90% of your followers think that you're nuts, you can still go "oh yes, right, a joke, I was totally joking, hahaha :roll9: "

GoT could be epic or a total disaster  I'd love to see her try

Emily Chan revealed in SKATING Magazine that her SP will be Je Suis Malade!

Aaaaaahhhhhhhh, I am so excited for this program :yahoo:

That would also be very Ashley... and actually not a bad move in general to as you say test the water. I kinda agree that it is kinda a one extreme or the other type deal. There is no meh with it. I think it could actually be a decent follow up to Moulin Rouge for her.

Though I kinda think we are going to get a "Diva" free skater from her next year. She does well with lyrics so I think that will stay, and I think it will be sung by someone called a Diva.

Technically, until this season, the Shibs were beaten in every face-to-face matchup with Chock and Bates other than 2012 U.S. Nationals.

But to be fair to the Shibs, there was a lot at play. Maia went through a major growth sprout shortly after they won 2011 Worlds bronze and Alex had at least two seasons of back injuries, which really impacted them (though they kept quiet about it).

And no other team has done what the Shibs did, so they deserve credit for that -- they could have given up years ago, but they didn't.

There a HUGE difference between being BEATEN and being BEATEN BIG TIME.

I think she may have been joking. But a while back, I think on this thread, someone suggested a GOT Mother of Dragons piece that was fantastic.

You mean Fallin' ;) I just hope the song won't jinx them :p I was thinking that some Ice Dance team could use this for SD actually, but nevermind. It is interesting choice, espiecially since they said it's not version we can expect... Keeping the LP will give them more time to work on SP, I can't wait to see what they came up with :)

EDIT:
From Kayne/O'Shea site the SP is actually: “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse
