I did not love Quinn & Lorraine's SD at Lake Placid, but this performance was great!!! The blues and hip-hop fit together seamlessly, unlike almost all the SDs I have seen this season. Bravo!!

 

[Crossover]

Other than M/C, Arina USHAKOVA / Maxim NEKRASOV of Russia and Nicole KUZMICH / Alexandr SINICYN of Czech are my favorites in this segment. Both team knew how to dance with their music. The Czech team's SD was more refined than their previous French JGP performances. I felt they genuinely enjoyed their participation in the event.

Liked McNmara/Carpenter, Kuzmich/Sinicyn, Ushakova/Nekrasov, Whitley/Graham, Lopareva/Karpushov and also Wu/Mirzakhani. Lewis/Bye are not bad, but they don't show much personality in their programs - in my opinion, of course.

They just remind me of the line in The Cutting Edge where the coach says, "No halfway. There is no halfway. Halfway is b-------."
There is no halfway with McNamara & Carpenter. They go 100% for whatever theme they are going for. Love it or hate it. I get done watching them and find myself laughing because they sell whatever it is so hard that by the time they are done I can't help but love it.

And their costumes are awesome this year. I love the way the checkerboard lining of the tails of Quinn's coat flips up from time to time and matches the trim on Lorraine's costume. I love the very fast arm pumping Lorraine does during the lift, so fast you almost imagine there is a strobe light going.

So complete and polished. It is hard to get the angular body movements to synchronize and align perfectly, and I expect this program to get even better over the season.
