I dont think it is moaning - for example nobody moans when yuzuru breaks WR - because you known that he delivers and deserves that; and with Evgenia ( and she is a lovely skater) but you have also juniorish choreography, labored jamps and "rather unique" facial expression (again i rather blame coaches )

Ahh..moaning rather referred to myself. I moaned about Anna's programmes not being backloaded before in this forum, but they are done for this year and it cannot be changed. And well, I might not like it but the judges and most of the commentators agree that Evgenia has all that, and they know more than me...so I just gotta live with it, haha.

Evgenia's base value is higher, isn't it? So even perfect, Anna has no chance. With a mistake Evgenia still scored higher than perfect Anna. Well...it is what it is, no moaning about it will stop it and it is at least also Anna's fault as she doesn't backload. But who knows what will happen next....

Since I started his conversation I'll say that I'm definitely not moaning about Evgenia's unbeatability, I think her consistency combined with her team's winning stretegy is a phenomenal feat. I just wish she had more closer competition to spice things up a bit, that's all.

What a horrible event. Like the SP. And poor Gabrielle. So heartbroken.

Oh my. That ice sucks. This event was for the pigeons or at least pigeon. He should't have to pay either for this mess of ice. Organizers should be embarrassed. I feel sorry especially for Leonova, Mao and Gracie. I fear that is it for Leonova. And Gracie and Mao have time to get it together but believers are starting to wane. Nice skate from Wakababy and Maria S. And considering the ice Med deserved her marks. Really sad and maybe dangerous -someone should sue!!!

The scoring at this competition, in every discipline, was through the roof, so it's pretty hard to talk about it. I thought she was the home town girl, with lots of energy (at the beginning especially) so she scored a PB. You'll notice that Medvedeva scored a SB, with a fall, no less. But I think they got the podium right, so I'm not complaining too much. Sotskova is the Russian Polina Edmunds. Slow, methodical, pretty program, but ultimately dull. Too bad for Gabby, she let the nerves get to her. I was kind of underwhelmed by this competition on the whole.

You could see the puddle that was one corner of the ice during the mens.

Wakaba doesn't look like a 15 year old, she has a mature look already. I think it was good that she's joined the senior ranks. Tbh, it pains me so much to say this, it hurts my heart but...realistically I think that Mao and Kanako are probably done. Rika Hongo, idk, yet but her prospects aren't good, she's got to redeem herself soon, she's lost almost all of the momentum she had last year. So I think the three ladies who are going to make it this year are Satoko, Mai and Wakaba. New pecking order I think.

Of course I cheer Mao and Kanako, but I have no possibility with them. Further, Rika cannot correct her bad posture and jump errors. About Satoko, she makes an effort a lot to improve the expressions, spins and steps though, as long as her jumps stay low, she’ll keep getting huge reduction by jump errors. Considering the situation, at this stage, Im expecting Wakaba most judging wise of all Japanese ladies.

There's freedom of speech, yes, but freedom of speech should never be an excuse to say downright hateful statements about others.

Everybody has a right to have their own opinion and to give criticism, but sometimes the negative way it's done is beyond distasteful, not to mention unnecessary.

I think bigger jumps + adult body means the jumps take more effort and are probably more difficult to backload. There's a reason that even the best jumpers in the world aren't backloading.

Maria is snoozy but she seems like a really sweet girl. I root for her. Her packaging isn't as perfect as Eteri's girls but that means there's room for positive development, like there was with young Anna.

Wakaba is great. There's nothing she's bad at other than lacking perfect consistency.

Evgenia's jumps were labored today but she fought through it. Good for her! I wish judges were a little less crazy on their scores, especially since I think last year's LP was far superior and her jumps looked better then too, but I'm not going to complain and say nasty things about Evgenia because of that.
