2016 Trophée de France Ladies SP

Wakaba is simply beautiful on ice. Very deep edges and nice knees - Satoko-like qualities without the refinement, but with more natural presence and bigger jumps. Her 3Lz-3T is gorgeous.

2F is disappointing but it's her first senior performance. I'm not going to hold it against her.

There were nice performances in the ladies' event, but the pairs event is the best for me.

I like Wakaba's program. She knows how to present herself without being cheesy and overly dramatic. She is comfortable being out there and revealing her emotion to the music. I am very pleased to see a young skater like her do that.

Her reaction at the KnC is exactly that, too!
Love her!

If Higuchi keeps this up, her PCS scores will rise. As it is, it might be her and Marin Honda, if she can manage the jump to seniors, to be within range of Medvedeva. A combination of athleticism, artistry and quirky luck.

Wakaba Higuchi. I will be remembering that name. She is my new favorite in ladies. It's so nice to see a young skater like her with that level of expression already. I can't wait to see her develop!

Wakaba is a serious contender, i hope she will be Japan n.1.

I've watched so many programs from her and she has everything to overtake satoko.

Given the clustering from 2nd to 8th (just about 11 points), the FS is going to be veeeeeeeeeeeeeery interesting.

gracie is sadly getting left behind in the proverbial dust. What has gone wrong?

I love the competition that I watched. (from Gabby to Wakaba) and couple of men's.

So happy to hear the pairs were even better:) YAY ! Excited to watch them all today:)

What I find fascinating about Wakaba is that at this age, she has so much expression in her program. It's truly incredible.

The sooner the better!

I thought Wakaba was sorely lacking in artistry & expression as a junior, but she's come a long way in a very short time, and is pretty much the complete package now.

While I am sure Sotskova will end up 2nd in the end, she was majorly robbed here in PCS. Should have been ahead of Daleman with her toeloops.

She's inconsistent. However, she's been medalling at Japanese senior nationals (3rd and 2nd) for two years in a row now.
