2016 US Nationals Senior Ladies SP

59.64, including an edge call on the flip and a 2T instead of a 3T for the combo.

ETA because I keep forgetting that the PCS/GOE stuff can keep changing.

I held my breath and Mirai did great. She's my sentimental favorite. Doubled her toe on the combination which was smart for her but went clean. Yay!!

Impressed with Mirai, but I wish she was more expressive in this program, especially after the jumps are done and the music swells.

Yay Mirai! Not perfect, but good. Gray/silver dress that, quite frankly, looks kind of Roman. Looks like she hears and responds to the music, but I want more expression yet from her. I could watch her layback spin all day (I know, I know- stating the obvious).

Did the leather on one of her boots split? You could almost see it on the 2A replay, and she said something to her coach about it when she came off the ice.

So only the best skaters make it to nationals, right? We are in big trouble

Very few countries have 22 senior ladies skaters that are top notch at the same time. I get your point, but I think the American skaters have taken enough heat already this week.

Edit: Nice job Mirai! I'm not her biggest fan by any means, but I'm happy she was so successful.

Come on TomZ

ARGUE IT'S A LUTZ ARGUE IT'S A LUTZ.

I mean she did a loop for her other jump, and had a *planned* 3F+3T so she made a change....

Despite not completing a triple/ triple, Mirai definitely deserved a bit higher points for that skate. It's her not being a fed favorite that has her with that low-ball score.
