Go, Viveca!!! She was on my list from the free skate, so I hope I can take her off after tonight

I think she doesn't have to be on the list regardless unless tonight is a true disaster- making the LP at all (especially after her Euros mess) is a big accomplishment and I like to think she knows it, especially in her first year as a senior.

Let's all hope the quality of the competition will be better than the men's competition. As for hopes and dreams, I'd like Viveca to perform well for her ability, Zijun Li to do well, Mirai Nagasu to do well and I also want the competition to be close but still with a deserving champion who skated a clean program.

It is possible. They need 28 to get 2 spots, but the lowest (regardless of actual placing) one can get is 16. So basically, they have to pull up a combined 10 spots. It's doable but it is worrying.

I thought the maximum was 18, not 16?

In the past they've started at 8, and even then the first hour was generally allotted to replaying short programs. It was that way when worlds were on ABC, too.
