2017 GP Internationaux de France Ladies SP

That's what was said about Skate Canada, that it had the makings of being both a mini USA and Russian Nationals, with no clear winner.

mini Russian Nationals? with Pogo(doubt she will be even in top 5 at this year nationals) and Sotskova(3rd place is her absolute maximum even with politicking involved) only? well, okay then....

Winner was actually pretty obvious right from the beginning and this is Osmond, i predicted that as well and so it happened

has Osmond ever scored at least 220+? because Alina did

I think you're referring to Russian Nationals last year, right? Usually when I'm putting together scores I ignore Nationals (I think a lot of posters do), since pretty much all of them score their athletes higher than they score in international competition.

Kaetlyn actually got quite close to 220 at Canadian Championships last year, 219.66, which is less than 2 points off Alina's Nationals score.

I think the two really are quite close to each other for now, which I hope will make for an incredible competition.

I'm not sure why, but I have this feeling that Kaetlyn's going to have a clean competition this go 'round and give us reason to think the gold medal for Evgenia isn't clearly a lock. I love both skaters, but everybody loves an exciting Olympic games!

And I can't believe this thread is five pages already

My Friday morning teacher just cancelled our lesson tomorrow... Which means I'm watching this live :yahoo:

I expect 110 pages to come

So far, based on this year, i think that
Osmond has a 5-7 or so points advantage over Zagitova in SP
Zagitova has a 5-10 points advantage over Osmond in FS

So if Zagi nails the SP, she got it.

I'm quite happy I'll actually get to watch this event live. Eager to see how this one will play out. Best of luck to the ladies! :cheer: :yay: :agree:

Mini Russian Nationals pewter medalist tryout, is more like it

Well, both represented Team Russia. as the Russian No 2. and No. 3, at Worlds only a few months ago, ...lest we forget! And going into their first GP of the season at Skate Canada, there was a promise of hope. BTW, how many of you picked Anna P. to finish 9th? Lets make this simple, 0. However, some here like to deny these events as per their predictions and their past love of Russian skaters, never happened, which to me is beyond... Yes, I have been since 2013. and will always be, Osmond4gold.

So pewter was it, as in pewter meaning some fans here are, fickle? On this we can agreed, largeman.

After two weeks of not really being able to watch much live because time zones, this starts at 9:04 AM Eastern US time <3

Honestly I love Kaetlyn way more than Alina. So I hope Kaetlyn has a clean comp! I don't know how I feel about Alina yet:scratch2:

And her score was even with the two falls in her FS.

Alina is more likely to win, yes Kaetlyn may have up to 5 point advantage even if Alina skate clean SP, but Kaetlyn yet to skate clean FS ever. While Alina always lands her triples (only 1 UR in all competition this year), and FS>SP so i'd give it to Alina. for Silver its between Mai vs Kaetlyn, Mai is consistent in FS and could score 140+ but will that enough to catch up differences in SP with Kaetlyn? We will see Sotskova too for battling for bronze, also Tuktamysheva if she lands that 3A and skate clean in CoC
