Hang on. I thought Black Swan used the music from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.

But, when I looked at Starr's ISU Bio, all the music is attributed to Clint Mansell. The guy that composed my favourite figure skating music, "Lux Aeterna".

I'm confused.

(I should add, I haven't seen the film yet).

I'm curious how Alina feels right now. I'm sure she feels even more pressure after Stasya and Polina didn't skate well in short and she's actually only Russian going for a medal. That's why I respect skaters, I would pop everything if anyone would push any pressure on me

And she has to skate AFTER Marin..she really needs to stay calm and do her best

Every time I see an Illusion spin, I want Adelina back.

It's one my least favorite spins, aside from that weird camel with the knee bent... it's really awkward for me. Can you point me to Adelina's illusion spin, so I can see if it changes my mind?

The irony is this is the first time she landed both her Flip and Lutz in this program.

flip and flutz...but nonetheless, a good competition overall for Starr considering her lack of international experience.
Now if only they would allow her to perform a redux of Whip My Hair in the exhibition...

She does. She went after Rika finally landed her 3A and fell apart. I think she's much better now and can handle it. She just needs to watch out for a Shin Amano. He's taking no prisoners.

I didn't expect anything from US girls because I've never watched them but both of them did well :agree:

They scored 149.05 and 161.36, I guess everything is relative...Russian girls would get ripped to shreds for the same performances

Yeah she really needs to fix that edge! But at least she can land it on tired legs. So it's something.

Oh Ms Leung, that was lovely music until the second half, where you went full on Eurotrash Overproduction Hell. Thumpa thumpa thumpa and baroque-influenced tones combined are like wearing the wrong color illusion mesh -- they stand out and not in a good way. Just saying...
