I think my observation about Nikitina from the warm-up just showed it's relevance.

Nikitina looks like she has hurt herself.

She was feeling around her knee when they zoomed in on her. And she was taking things very easy as she was going around the edge of the ice.

Sad for Diana not getting through, as she is a good skater. But, if she is injured, maybe it is for the best. Let it heal properly without putting extra stress on it.

But what about Darya Panenonkova?

Darya was 5th at Jr Nats & didn't compete at Senior Nats. Stasya also had comparable scores to Darya at their respective Russian Cup events though she had 2 silvers to Darya's golds (behind Zagitova both times). It's a toss-up but Stasya doesn't seem to have regained her form after being ill, unfortunately.

Sorry for the girls that had poor skates, but thank goodness this didn't become an issue.

for short program ties the Technical Point is the decision of place. in Long program PCS score. there would only be a tie tie if they would habe the same technical score. then they both would be in
but this "Problem" is fixed anyway
