2017 World Ladies SP

Ahem, say what you will about Amano, but at least that guy has the nerve to be enemy of every skating fan. Others are too inconsistent in rotation call that it's so mind bogging.

They should have made Satoko go with a promise of a spot for her next year. New Rule: highest finish at previous world gets an Olympic spot.
Wakaba is a journey woman. This should be very clear when she was no where near the Russian babies for years. She's always overscored in Japan. Next year, JSF will not be kind to her and Satoko anymore.

I'm not in a mood to argue your other points, but Satoko couldn't go because of a serious injury!

Angelina and Nicole are both quite unfamiliar to me. But, with similar tech contents and a jump mistake, Nicole stood out with better SS and presentation.

Not really. Shin Amano was easy on Satoko at WC 2015.

Nicole RAJICOVA:

Very tilted in the air for the 3Lz (I would give it a <) but able to tack on the 2T. A bit slow going into the 3Lo but completed. Not the strongest nor the longest positions in the spins. Fine on the 2A.

Not a lot of musicality or interpretation until the step sequence which had adequate phrasing. Just not a lot of emphasis anywhere to the music. Still, a fair performance.

I have to drive my daughter to school now, so I just might have to suck all the life out of my iPhones data plan to catch the final group while on the road. It's a thirty minute drive. Booooo. :(

New slogan: don't worlds and drive!

Yup, I pretty much threw my son out the door and gave him breakfast to go, and Go Fast!

Well my cat Bingley greatly enjoyed that if his rapt position directly in front of my screen is any indication.

Honestly I'm starting to find Nicole's skating a little bland though I used to be a big fan... maybe I'm just getting grouchy in my old age.

Bland programs this year

All the tech panel complaining is like complaining about refs in the NCAA tournament games.

He's inconsistent too. Two years ago at World's, he didn't score Satoko underrotations that she did.

I think you are underestimating Wakaba. She has the best jumps out of the Japanese ladies, resemble those of Midori, and her musicality and interpretation is improving all the time, maturing nicely. She need better programs, and I understand she may have a 3A soon. When she does, she will be VERY competitive. This is her senior debut, and already we saw dramatic PCS improvements from when she was Juniors. She and Marin would be very good choices going forward, although Japan also have many very good youngsters coming up too, I am very impressed by them this year, all doing their own thing.

Although I agee with you with regard to Satoko.
