2018 Europeans Free Dance

I feel really sorry for Anna and Luca...they could easily make the podium if they skate clean. But something really not okay with Anna  :sad4:

Well, after all those seasons and many rocky competitions, wins or loses by minuscule of point, still being considered as a top team, combining it with their last season happening now it has to reflect somehow on their pressure level, nerves, focus and illustrate in disappointment after making mistake. I feel for Anna and Luca, because they sure have a desire to make this ultimate season successful and memorable and I really understand their tiredness, nervousness and feeling low after competition like they just had. No matter what will happen at Olympics, I am bringing Italian flag to Milan to make them a send-off they deserve, crying buckets with them

P/C scores are a joke, period.

Sara and Kirill :yahoo: :hap57:. 2 spots next Europens :yes2: and the best part is that they showed to be worthy olympic representation after the mess of Zagreb.

L/L were really great, right? I mean, even without Angelique´s mistake, I think clearely L/L were the best french team.

Anna and Luca were really sloppy today, no surprise their low score, same Penny and Nicholas, very sloppy.

B/S and S/B were not great, both very average but I think B/S with silver was fair.

Highlights of the event for me, H/K and L/L .

About P/C rumour, it is interesting because I thought that next season, France will try send to A/T to Gadbois and if the rumour is true, it could change things.

The reason P/C got better score here compared to GPF is the level. Cist4, it was level 3 at GPF. That's why it's a WR. I think it was a little slower than usual, especially the first part.
Now for the PCS it's always better to be in the arena to judge it... But everyone agrees that P/C are amazing interpret. Might consider it before jumping on the "european solidarity" theory, which is quite funny.

One final point about B/S and miming. I think it can work when done right. I seem to remember that there was a Russian team in another discipline named B/S who pulled off an amazing and magical Chaplin program with miming

Miming is a form of storytelling. Miming IS an art! Just youtube Marcel Marceau. I'm tired of people putting down miming when they don't like a skater/program.

To be clear, In no way am I saying that B/S are the greatest artists of all time, just that mime should be respected not bashed at every occasion.

Spins rotate faster so I think it matches.

I think it completely matches the tempo of the music (they have a superb sense of musicality) but not the mood or color of it. I think it's a problem with the construction and not with their execution of it.

P/C scores are so ridiculous that I got to a point where I will be disappointed if they do not win that gold medal for whatever reason

It was successful because Charlie Chaplin was from the silent movie era and the B/S program was honest and straightforward.

U.S. judge will be Sharon Rogers and she don’t seem appreciate robotic skating of the canadians

But the president of Skate Canada who is Leanna Carron will be the judge there too. BTW at the GPF she is one of the two judges who gave V/M higher score than P/C while the rest of the judging panel favored P/C.

I think complaining about miming is just a short hand. The complaint is on an over reliance on it by choreographers because they do not know how to convey mood otherwise. Sorry but did she just go blind?? Because every blind person I know walks around quite sure footedly and comfortably in the world.

But yes, it's certainly an art as performed by those who show some respect and study it :agree:

Really? I knew that she is judge but I did not know that she will be judging in the olympics.

Did not mean to bash miming in that way. It seems that the miming is not being done well when it is what we are talking about instead of the story it is being used to tell. I like all of the skaters using it, just think their choreo is not doing them justice.

Excatly- honest and straightforward while the other B/C , a dance B/C, is on completely the opposite side of expression and on A comparison of them is of no value.

The Gadbois team has GOT to bring that mental coach with them to the Olympics (and can I have her number, please?), for P/C and H/D at the very least. I think that Gabby and Guillaume deserved their results, I just think they had skated with more power and abandon at the GPF. Gabriella usually wears her heart on her sleeve and is the one selling the program emotionally and here she was neither her goofy, playful self in the SD, nor did she totally lose herself in the FD. I wonder if she was feeling unwell or sad, or if something has happened in her private life. That being said, their skate was gorgeous and sublime, they still take my breath away.
