How many versions of River Flows in You are out there?

Haneul is much more a spinner than a jumper, and this program does nicely emphasizes that. But honestly I found the program to be too simple, not much choreo nor emotion.

Hanul Kim (KOR)

Turn-out on the 3Lz, bit of a wrapped leg. Good speed on the combo spin right in front of the judges. Nice tuck in the flying portion of the sit spin. Alright 3Lo+2T. Nice change of edge spread eagle into a clean 2A. Great speed and centering on the layback spin, leg position in layback could be better.

Clean and simple program from Hanul today. Her spins are her strength. I think they could bring more musicality in the choreography because I can tell that she has it in the footwork sequence. I think if she was more expressive with her face it would really bring this musical piece to life.

Katsiarina Pakhamovich (BLR)

3T+1T to open, 3T looks double-footed. Double-footed as well on the 3S, looks <. Good positions but not very centered combo spin. 2A<< forward landing on the Axel attempt. Very slow on the sit spin. Illusion entry into an okay layback spin. Footwork has some good edges but the shapes were awkward in places.

Yujin Choi (KOR)

Low step-out on the 3F attempt. Good centering on the flying sit spin. Nice detail in the hand positions in the footwork sequence. Spread eagle into a clean 2A. A bit of a wild swing but fine 3Lo+2T. Clear illusion entry into the layback but loss of speed on the Biellmann. Good flexibility in the final spin.

Choi could have more speed in general, but I liked her choreography and the details to the Indian music.

I have a soft spot for Yujin, but she is the forever alternate for a reason... She has talent and personality, it just doesn't come out when it needs to. Sigh...

Veronik Mallet (CAN)

3T to open, shaky landing so no combo on it. Nice comeback with 3Lo+2T. Nice speed on the layback spin but not very high in level. Clean and simple 2A. Strong and fast combo spin to follow. Clean edge changes in the footwork. Good centering on the final spin.

I like her flow and gentle qualities. Clean skate for the most part. I think the choreography could be more interesting, lots of two-foot skating and a few empty moments.

Score: 57.51

Well that was great. She was on fire, both in jumps and in performance. Although I miss the shirt, this was top-notch skating.
