Why did some jump the 3lz to the wall?

Ok, someone needs to explain to me why do professional skaters (like even top 5 world skaters) seem to jump so close to the walls? Like, you have the entire rink at your disposal, why push that jump so close and risk even a 1% chance to hit the wall?

Is there some kind of incentive (like extra points) for jumping close to the wall?

The interesting point is whether they do it on the judges side where the judges cannot see the jump so well.
