Interesting ;) No crazy European mojority panel... looks fair. Can we have something like this for the ladies? Preferably without the Skate Canada president. My secret plan is Mirai to medal lol...

"Is expect to see this on a commercial for tide."
Husband

Hunny please don't make me crave tide pods again.

Kaliszek / Spodyriev

Nice flapper-like position for Kaliscek in the stationary lift. Clean traditional holds through the foxtrot circular step (Level 3). Good speed through the rotational lift with her on his shoulder. Good set of twizzles on the same edge (Level 4). Combo spin is a bit tight but nice that it goes in both directions with shades of Sui/Han (Level 4). Straight line lift could be bolder. Fairly simple choreographic lift but good rotation. A little mistime in the second step with some flat edges here and there (Level 2).

I actually thought the faster Great Gatsby parts in the first half was quite good but the second half has so many changes of music that it's difficult to keep pace and understand what they're trying to do. I felt their pep and snappiness, but not really the elegance so much in the second half where the edge quality degraded a bit. The choreography and transition could be more interesting, to match the concept of the program, but nice holds for the most part and alright speed.

Would Ms. Noonan rather be anywhere else but the commentating booth? Is there any excitement to being at the Olympics?

No, she's just not all chipper and perky like some commentators. I actually really like her commentating...

Polish team-- -5 GOE for that music. +5 GOE for those gorgeous costumes.

To be honest, I just can't believe that the SKATE CANADA PRESIDENT is on this judging panel. Do they not understand how awful the optics are on that???

So long as we allow federations to nominate their judges rather than it being centrally chosen by the an unbiased panel appointed by the ISU, nonsense like this will continue and the most biased judges will be nominated for Olympic judging spots.

Kana and Chris with their cherry blossom free dance!! One of my favorites of this season

Sighhhh, their silhouettes were all wrong for 1920s :C That aside, I loved their skate. Very beautiful, great energy.

Hot take: I hate that contemporary dance has leaked into practically every dance-related venture. It's a poor cousin of ballet and jazz.

Such a beautiful program, one of the standouts this season :sad4:

I've always wondered why Chris didn't partner with his other sister Allison after Cathy retired. Allison's then-partnership ended at the same time.

Though I am glad to see Chris and Kana doing well. She's a lovely skater.
