2018 Olympic Figure Skating Ladies FS

Li Xiangning

Clean 3F+2T to start. A bit shaky on the 3Lz+2T but landed still. Very careful into the 3F, wonky landing. Good speed through the flying spin with a nice catchfoot position that was extended (Level 4). Safely landed 3Lz (called <). A bit of a two-footed landing on the end of the 2A+1Lo+3S combo. Alright 3T (called <), right into the combo spin with decent positions (Level 3). A lot of flat edges in the step sequence (Level 2). Okay 2A with not a lot of height. Fairly good layback spin to end (Level 4).

Just not a lot of artistry. Li could have skating to pretty much anything quaint and classical, and I wouldn't know the difference. It was a very matter-of-fact, detached performance with little facial expression and lack of theatre.

I think that what should be judged is what they put out on the ice, not their birth date.

My point being almost no 15 year olds have maturity or performance level to be achieving that high of PCS - judging has become ridiculous where PCS is concerned

Ivett psyching herself up before the skate?

Oh look another Carmen. I do like the all red dress for it though, rather than the classic black and red.
