2018 Olympic Figure Skating Ladies FS

Congrats to Alina, never been the biggest fan but a gold well deserved.

So heartbroken for Evgenia but still a respectable silver, I hope it doesn't discourage her and she can come back stronger than ever towards 2022.

Well done Kaetlyn for bronze, except for the little step out on the lutz, a flawless program and she's won the set, Gold and bronze in 2018 and silver in 2014!

Fantastic skate and PB from Satoko, nothing wrong with 4th and hoping to see her towards 2022.

A little heartbroken myself that Evgenia didn't win but least there was no controversy this time round.

So many of the greats never got the OGM..... Janet Lynn, Michelle Kwan, Mao Asada, etc. Evgenia has joined a club full of amazing skaters that have won the silver medal, and the lack of the gold isn't going to make a difference in how she is remembered.

Yep...she has star quality and incredible character. She's going to be successful in life no matter what.

Remember, the other Zhenya won silver at his first Olys...

Tell me ladies skating is not evolving, I dare you!
That was the best tourney at the best possible time EVER!!!
Wonderful, amazing breathtaking performances by top 7 skaters!

I can’t say the results are wrong...but I’m surprised by how devastated I am for Evgenia. Until a month ago, everyone expected her to be the gold medalist.:(

My heart is BREAKING for Evgenia.

But Alina trying not to sob even though you can tell she's crying, and playing it so cool when she realizes she's won gold is almost sad in a way. Why does it make me feel sad?

Well, I may be completely wrong but I think she can be thrilled to win gold, but also upset/sad for Evgenia not winning gold. I think that's how many of us feel right now. I was rooting for Alina, but also heartbroken that Evgenia lost gold. I also think that Alina skated more tentatively, so I would have given it to Medvedeva. Having said that, I don't think Evgenia skated completely lights out either. I think Evgenia really peaked last year at WTT. That performance would have won Olympic gold tonight IMO. Anyway, I think they were both nervous under a lot of pressure. However, they don't seem to crumble like the US ladies.

Ultimately, I wish the best for both Russian ladies, and hope neither of them disappears from the Russian skating scene. Oh, and I am SO HAPPY for Kaetlyn Osmond. She should be SO thrilled and proud of herself.

I just spied Boborova! :D

Also wow the audience clears out quick LOL.

Awww look group hug for the Eteri Team :p

What an underwhelming event to end these otherwise fantastic skating disciplines at the Olympics.

I have never agreed with Evgenia's scores over the past few years, but I agreed with the placement. She deserved those wins and undefeated status. I am unsure about this decision though ... This is coming from an Alina fan and I think she deserves the high TES but not the high PCS. I am happy for her win but I cant help but feel like this was Evgenia's real chance at a OGM. With upcoming skaters like Trusova and co, I just dont see Evgenia being a real threat in 2022 Bejiing.

Sadly, I suspect none of these women are going to be anywhere near podium contenders. Rika Kihira will probably be a senior with 3 triple axels across the SP+LP. Trusova may do 2 quad, 7-triple LP with a lutz-loop combo. The youngins' are coming with an insane technical arsenal.

Let's be real. This is the club no athlete wants to be part of.
