2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens FS

I'm so sorry Brendan didn't have that mojo for last night. I think the mistakes took him out of the program. If he could only borrow Plushenko or Yagudin's mirror, which told them every day that they were the best . He has captivating qualities and I could easily seem him in the later groups. I hope he's able to put it all together

I agree with you about Brendan. I feel he rushes a bit whether due to over eagerness or nerves. I just wanted him to take some deep breaths and settle down cause I know he has the skills. He just needs to slow his tempo so it all can align. One day it will, maybe at Worlds?

((Nathan)) Heart of a Champion!!

Men's medal or no, Nathan will go home knowing that he gave the World an OLYMPIAN performance. He showed them what he REALLY could do! I feel like my own kid skated lights out out there. I cried bitter tears for him yesterday and my heart hurt for him. Today, I cried tears of joy and my heart is full! That skate is one for the ages!

This might be a dumb question but who are S and M?
Don't you watch pairs? Or did you even read/heard about pairs results at these Olympics? Oh, well. S and M - Savchenko/Masso. And I don't mean to offend you - you don't have to be interested in pairs skating.

P.C.: Of course, a bunch of people were faster than me.

unpopular opinion:
I find the double standard pretty funny. Yes Nathan's program is nothing but crossovers but so is Adam's, yet everybody goes gaga over him :rolleye: Adam skates more pretty but that's it, his programs are actually more empty than Nathan's!

Because Adam expresses the music so well. I was emotionally able to connect to his skating at the team event. I was no Adam Rippon fan before the Olympics.

nathan pulled an asada mao performance, bravo .
if the us media did not kill his mental strength ,
it is a clear gold hands down.

Good effort on the quads but that was no Mao Asada. He sacrificed the performance and components while Mao upped her tech and kept the performance. Last I read, the components still counted in the scoring. This is only a clear gold if the rules changed to abandon the PCS.

It’s inevitable. I mean, unless the judges decide to surprise us, I think we can all see it coming. I still think Hanyu has this with a clean free, and he’ll still crush Nathan’s PCS score. But Boyang is likely screwed. Uno, Fernández, and Hanyu are the only ones I see as being able to beat Chen’s gifted PCS because it’s so obviously there... though if the judges decide they don’t want any of them to win, who knows.

This FS went from “going to be a good show” to “I’m really pissed” quite fast.

Boyang got a good PCS in 4CC. And I'm willing to say he's better than Nathan.

He'll likely get a 200<. As will Shoma and Yuzu.

*breathes out*

Well, it wasn't perfect. But he kept fighting all the way to the end, and that's all I ever ask of him. So I'm proud of him, because whatever else happens, he is so much more mature now. Bring on Worlds.

I'm perplexed that Johny said Cha skates like a junior. Vincent won Jr Worlds last year and that LP was not nearly as polished at Cha's. Re Nathan's scores I think they will hold up right up to the final flight and perhaps surpass one or two skaters but I don't think he will medal unless the top four really screw up and I don't see that happening. I'm still expecting (hoping) for Yuzu and Javi in either order and Jin. I think Nathan winds up in fifth which is where I predicted before the games began. Anyway good for him. I was so worried but as he said the pressure was off so he just skated. I disagree that his program is empty and just crossovers; that Rite of Spring section is quite good and there were other moments.
