I don’t think she meant she wants anyone to faulter as much as she was just speaking for Nathan’s chances at a medal and all he can was to go sit and see what happens. I can see how it may sound nefarious but I suspect it was just unfortunate wording, They will gush over anyone who goes clean in the last group and especially Yuzu.

That said...I find any nationalistic commentating to be extremely annoying. That’s the Olympics for ya.

I’m sure you are right but still, she was a skater herself, I would maybe understand the fans saying such stuff, she should think before she speaks on national TV. I am sure Nathan is not sitting there and praying for Yuzu or Javi to fall :/

Nathan Chen gave me the feels. Not as much as Mao Asada did in 2014 tho. At least he will get another chance.

Nope! That score was way too high based on the lack of quality his performance had, in both jumps and presentation!

But he had the redemption arc.

I'm going to stop before it starts sounding like I'm bashing him, though. Better not knock off any of the Top 4 if they're clean.

Brendan Kerry

Hard pick into the attempted 4T, only a 2T. Popped the 4S into a 3S. Competent 3F into a nicely centered camel spin. Choreo sequence seemed to be there for him to save his energy. Decent 3Lz+3T. Solid 3A with a superb landing, but three-turns between the second 3A+2T(rippon). A bit tilted in the air on the second 3Lz but still landed fairly well. Two-foot landing and stand still on the 3Lo. Alright combo spin into the footwork with strong curves. Nice butterfly into the sit with good speed.

I wish that this program had a unifying theme of some kind, some style or story to tie the elements together. Kerry felt detached to the music, a disconnect between his movements and Pink Floyd. He might have been skating to something else rock and I might not know the difference. But he fairly good jumps and spins despite the pops in his first two jumps.

Wow... i loved Nathan and then Tara goes and says „now we are waiting for the Man in the final group to make some mistakes”... What skater would Hope for others to fall!??? I guess thats the kind of „champion” she is ;/ hoping someone else will do worse than her flutz :/

I shut off Tara a couple of days ago. I've been watching the Russian stream.

Bravo Nathan he can still win a medal! Don't be surprised. It could be S and M all over. but if that is the case then Chan better be given 98 for pcs and Hanyu 93 cause not a lot going on but jumping in Chen's program.

This might be a dumb question but who are S and M?
