Good job by Aliev! Those jumps were great! However, I find him terribly boring/uninspiring otherwise. His performance skills and posture need a lot of work.

Ugh I thought this isn't happening until Friday. I failed at timezone. :/

I'm not sure where you are from, but PyeongChang is 14 hours AHEAD of eastern time. So when this event started at 8:00 PM ET live tonight (Thursday), it was 10:00 AM on Friday morning in PyeongChang.

Aliev's skating is beautiful. NBC is pegging him near 100. He had too little stamina towards the end and got caught on the ice towards the end. Slow spins.


But absolutely would love to see him compete with Cha in 2022.

If he's the next "it" men's skater for Russia, I hope he doesn't crumble from the fed's pressure... :slink: (sorry, too many bad memories the past couple of years from Russian men)
