2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens SP

Why did Nathan attempt a 4F in the warm-up and then changed it to lutz and toeloop for the competition?

He was probably planning 4F as the second quad but thought he should go for 4T+3T after missing the opening jump.

My boy Nate really died for everyone else in this group and I can't decide if it was worth it

Omg he got grandfather Patrick through to the last group!

Aight Slaythan's alive but he stayin comatose until further notice.

Similar situation to Evan in Torino- i don't recall how far back Evan was after short but he rebounded to an excellent free program and then 4 years later the gold. I hope nathan has his evan moment though I don't know if it's in his personality to just skate free with no inhibitions the way Adam is skating.

Basically 4 men going for the podium at this point- with an outside chance for the Russian.

Evan was 10th. Even Matt Savoie placed better in the short than him, and iirc Matt had a mistake too.

Lemme just take a moment to say that I HOLD THE JUDGING PANEL IN CONTEMPT for giving Boyang less PCS than Kolyada and Rippon.

His performance, his program, and his skating were breathtakingly beautiful.

Go show them tomorrow, Boyang, and WIN EVERYTHING. [emoji630][emoji966][emoji120]

Boyang was a little slower than in 4CC. But yeah, don't know why he didn't deserve an Olympic inflation for his flawless skate.

Yes, we're talking a meltdown of Chernobyl proportion.

On the other hand, it looks like there are enough Pooh Bears for every child in Korea. South AND North.

:otopic: Visiting Pripyat is legitimately on my bucket list of places to visit. It’s the geographer and urban exploration enthusiast in me.

Wait!!! Just realised that Dima is first behind the top favourites!!! Both Dima & Misha are ahead of Nathan!

Hardly. Love Hanyu, but he is an inconsistent long program skater. Any one of the top four could win.

All the top men are inconsistent long program skaters, of them, he's relatively consistent. And I don't blame any of them for it, they're doing a ridiculous amount of technical content.

Time for bed. I'm having my taxes done tomorrow (for free) but have to get there at the crack of dawn. At least the weather is going to be warm in Manhattan tomorrow. See you all tomorrow eve or whatever. GO Javi, Yuzu and Jin!!!!!

In chronological order, the best programs (with quads and no mistakes): Aliev, Hanyu, Uno, Fernadez, Jin. All 5 men were friecking gooood.

Anyone has Gracie's number?

Poor Nathan, and his PCS is dropping. He needs to buck up next season.

I love Nathan and feel like he has the potential to be one of the all-time great skaters in time - but I get the vibe he's going to college and moving on with his life. As a fan, I hope I'm wrong.

Well, sorry for Nathan and Mikhail, that was extremely depressing, as was much of the first several groups.

However, Yuzuru!! He is so stunning. I will be heartbroken if he doesn't get gold here. My dream for Aliona came true last night, so please gold for Yuzu, too

And Shoma! Great job! I'm torn between who I favor between him and Boyang, but they're both awesome :luv17:

Javi!!! There is just no one more charming and lovely than him. I want a medal so badly for him :pray:

Plus Dmitri! I was worried about nerves getting to him, but he slayed! :agree: Love him, just a gorgeous skater

Aliev is really only 5 points off the podium. With the current state of men's, that's not enough of a gap to close the door on a medal at all.
