Can we give them the prize for the most boring program of the season? Actually it's at the same time boring and tacky. Quite an achievement.

That program is such a mess to me--I like my costume changes to be campy like Mae's. Having said that, they have beautiful qualities. But dull

They're ballet dancers. The first half of the program is them in practice, and then they change into their fancy costume and dance in the actual show

I'd have been on board with it if it had been a really dramatic, full body costume change, that signified a big moment in the music. Like Laurine's Grease program. Maybe that's just the only costume change I like?

At least it makes sense. And Gilles/Poirier's was funny. Just like they are, so that was fine by me as well.

That shouldn't beat S/B let alone the Italians. The judges sure were generous in the GOEs - look at the tech score, even with the botched jump. It also looked like she touched down on one of the throws. But beyond that it was like watching beige paint dry.

Russian cheer squad may not be as in sync as the NK cheer squad but they make up for it in enthusiasm.

The only skaters I feel can pull off a costume changes:

1) Plushy
2) Piper and Paul


.... and it usually works well in synchronized skating, cuz we’re all about the kitsch.

Zabiiako / Enbert

Nice and high 3Twist to start, and good 3T+2T+2Lo but a little out of sync in the entries. Step-out from Zabiiako on the sbs 3S, and it looks under-rotated (actually downgraded from the replay). Alright throw 3F, could have had a hand-down from her. Safe and secure hip lift, then decent unison on the sbs spins. Solid throw 3Lo into a strong back outside death spiral. Time for the costume change! A bit slow in the rotation of the reverse lift, but still good, and a fine one-armed dismount on the final lift. And a competent combo spin to finish!

More of a balletic performance that's all about position and technique. They didn't have that much expression but they had a clean skate for the most part despite the mishap on the 3S. This is was a better performance than their team event at the very least.

Listening to the CBC commentary (fake Canadian here ) but they explained the concept of Z/E's program and it made SO. MUCH. SENSE.

I agree with Belinda that the "show" half of the program should have been the whole thing. Just cut the "practice" portion and do a d--- Sleeping Beauty program

Yes, but they're airing that on NBCSN. Actual NBC kept mentioning figure skating "coming soon" and then skipped the Italians and Russians for skiing fluff.

That is the most awkward, pointless costume change ever. They looked lovely to start with and then they start undoing buttons for the grand reveal.

These two are fine but I almost want to see them trade programs - minus the costume unbuttoning - with T/M. Candyman might liven them up, whereas T/M might be able to do something with this music.
