2018 Olympic Figure Skating Pairs FS

Heartbreak for S/H aside, what an incredible last group.

Off to grab a pint of ice cream and xanax for the men's!

I'm happy for Aljona, she finally got her gold and with an amazing performance. That'll go down in the Oly history!

Gutted for my faves, Sui/Han. I can only cross everything they get another shot at it.

What a competition.

Ok, first of all, Tarasova crying absolutely broke my heart  I can only hope that they use this disappointment as fuel for future performances. Other than that, congrats to everyone on the podium, they all delivered wonderful, deserving performances. Incredibly happy for Aliona :hap93:

That moment of Evgenia crying changing into Aliona crying tears of joy is really the Olympics in a nutshell: heartbreak and euphoric joy.

And the US has the worst finish by an American pairs team at the Olympics :(

But I really really hope Alexa and Chris aren't too disappointed. They were so instrumental in the success of USA in the team event.

Thrilled with the podium.

S/B were robbed. They should have beaten both Yu/Zhang and Zabiako/Enbert overall, and James/Cipres in the LP. Hotarek and Marchei should have beaten James/Cipres. I can only hope that the phenomenal programs S/B and H/M put out there tonight will help them reputation-wise with the judges for the future. Both had amazing Olympic moments here.

So are Savchenko and Massot and Sui/Han continuing on after this season? I know D/R are retiring.

It's so odd to me. The judges bury J/C all season long, then give them a PB here? I mean, I'm not complaining, but what the hell happened?

Just watched S/M's program for the first time. Holy crap. That was one of THE best programs and THE best performances I've ever seen. What magnificent music choice and choreography. It was almost a religious experience. Talk about skate of a lifetime and Olympic-level performance.

I know Sui/han must be disappointed to win silver but there's plenty of proof around them that its absolutely within reach, even if they don't get it the first time. And now they'll go on a rampage to wn all the world titles :P

Wow. That FS from Aliona and Bruno just looked and felt like a championship skate to me. This season in general has been kind of meh and I was afraid the Olympics were going to be a let down. I feared the golds would go to the ones who screwed up the least in the free. If the pairs event is any indication, it could be a great one after all.

That was such a great Olympic moment. And I know the big story is Aliona finally gets her gold after all these years, but I found myself watching Bruno during the wait for the final 3 pair's scores. He was so adorable and excited and red faced.
